The text is normally displayed by "DynamicData" and since Sentinel's Fate went live, this specific DynamicData (and a few others) are not displaying properly.

For now I'd advise sticking your writ in your active quest so you can see the timer. I could potentially fix this by constantly trying to fetch the data from the journal window, but I find that to be a little dirty

Would rather see SOE fix it.
