Ok, lets try again.
You can use the old updater from this site http://www.eq2interface.com/download...nOfficial.html
Its only the old map sytem that is not suported ingame.

Its everquest2.exe that the updater is looking for , should exist in all versions of eq2.

You should not set everquest2.exe as autolaunch, use eq2.exe or stationlauncher.exe.

everquest2.exe is the game, but its the other programs you need to run to patch the game.

But im a bit cofused , you said :

I am using station launcher.

and

have a brand new computer and a fresh complete install of Everquest 2 a few days ago from the retail EQ2 Sentinel's Fate head start.

If this is the case you might have 2 versions installed on the same computer.

You could test this by searching for everquest2.exe on your C: drive
