I used to use eq2ui_mainhud_character.xml but it has been completely disabled by SOE a while ago (unless they reactivated it).
Agreed, the inventory_examine seems to be unused as well. The HTML browser is still quite nice, I used to use it to browse the forums when waiting for somebody. Also ACT can use it to display parse results/graphs. But that was before I got my second monitor.  I believe I remember SOE officially stated they were going to revamp the browser to support cookies, etc., but that was a while ago and ETA is probably 2010.
