help: player/target/implied windows not working properly....
a great UI modder, by the name of pixelia, has made a set of player/target/implied target windows that i have come to love, however....
the set seems to be losing positioning info between sessions!
here are the following bugs...
player window: it doesn't retain the size of the hp or power bar that i set it to last. overall width/height of window (not just hp/power bars) seem to have no problems.
target/implied target window: both windows do not retain width or height between sessions.
here is the set that i would like "fixed" if possible:
Pixelia's Black Set (player/target/implied)
i did not link to his current set on the boards because i asked him to make a set w/ black colors instead of the colors he uses in the set currently on the boards.
big thx to pixelia for allowing me to post for help w/ this. and big thx, in advance, on whoever tries to fix this.

I wonder if the target/implied's width and height are not being saved because of the spell icons and the dymaic resizing of the windows that the game does...
Do you have spell icons on for those windows? I did not look in the code, but just wondering.

hmm... i dont have effects turned on, and i'm pretty sure the set doesn't support effects. never really needed it though, i always try to debuff a mob w/ everything i got right from the get go.
all i kno is everytime i log in i'm spending 5 mins setting the size of the hp/power bar for my player window, and resizing the entire target/implied target windows. a very big pain when u log on late for raids, etc. and gotta rush to get there lol
i kno we got great modders here though, so hopefully 1 of u can figure it out w/ just a quick glance at the code

so can no1 fix this set? seriously... if no1 wants to take a look at it, then point me where the hell i need to go to figure out how to fix it myself!
i feel like no1 has even taken a look to see if it's something easy, meanwhile im loggin' in every day and having to resize my player/target/implied target window everytime.
if someone has taken a look at it and it was too hard, then im sorry... but i dont think thats the case and if i knew .xml then i wouldn't be asking for help now would i?
is it that hard to take 1 minute to look at it to see if its something easy to fix? sheesh

So, the player window is fine except the length of the health/power bars?
And the Target/Implied Target are fine except the windows resize everytime you log in?
More importantly, are you making the target/implied target windows bigger? If so, how much bigger?

omg, a response... a moment while i rejoice!
lol, ok seriously.... the default size/width of each 1 of these windows is nowhere near what i want them to be, so each window has been resized horizontally and vertically.
to answer ur questions...
yes, the player window is fine, except the hp/power bar resizes itself vertically (not horizontally). what i mean is... i login... i now have a super fat power bar w/ teeny tiny hp bar, so i grab the resizer in the middle of the bars and fix it.
and yea, the target/implied target are fine except they won't stay the same horizontally or vertically.
as for your last question, as stated above... yes, i have made them all bigger then default i think. if you need some SS's to show you, lemme kno and i'll get that done.

I've only just started doing anything with the target windows, so this could be entirely wrong. But...
IIRC, the target windows distributed by SoE are not user resizable by default. The game client automatically sizes them to fit the information it wants to display. It is entirely possible that because of this, the game client simply does not save the size of the windows. Since it's resizing them automatically, there's no reason in it's mind to save the size.
If this is the case, then nothing can be done to change it. You'd have to know what size you want the windows to be and open them in the UI editor and change them by hand. Or get Pixelia to do it. I can't even begin as I have no idea what size you want the windows to be.
And, of course, I could be totally wrong in my first assumption.
I'm really not sure what you're saying about the HP/MP bars, so I won't even bother to speculate.

At first glance of the code for the target windows, it looks like the author has set a default size, yet has allowed users to resize the windows. This may be why they revert after each session.
I'm gonna pull the windows up in UIBuilder and see what I can do. The only thing with sizing is I have no idea what size windows your looking for.

Here's the new files. Simply copy and paste them into your UI folder(saying yes to replacing current files).
The hp/power bars shouldn't be a problem anymore, unless you want one bigger or one smaller. I left them the way they were arranged by default. To change them will require moving the location of the splitter bar inside the Bars page. This is no longer moveable in game(this is what caused the bars shifting). On a quick check in game, the bars seem to be locked now.
The Target and Implied Target windows I've removed the ability to resize them in game. If you don't like the size I've set, here's how to change it.
Open either file in a text editor. Look for these two lines of code(they should be at the very top).
<Page DynamicData="/GameData.Target.Window" DynamicDataFilter="0001" eq2usescomwndcontrols="true" Location="37,44" MaximumSize="2048,2048" MinimumSize="175,80" Name="Target" PackLocation="left,top" PackLocationProp="0037/0001,0044/0001" ScrollExtent="175,80" Size=" 175,80" UserMovable="true">
I've highlighted in red the numbers you have to change to increase or decrease the size of the window(currently, 175,80 is the minimum size the windows will allow). You'll just have to do some back and forth between game and editing to find the size you want.
Hope that fixes your problems.

well loktha...
it was a great effort and i appreciate the help you given me (sorry it took so long for a reply, was messing around w/ them), but here is what i was wondering if you could change.
is there anyway to make the smallest size possible for target/implied target smaller? cuz as it stands right now the 175/80 is too tall, the width is fine as i make those windows pretty long anyways.
i tried to make them smaller and switched around some other numbers and ended up w/ a window that was showing only half the target window haha
oh and i'm not sure what happened w/ the player window but i still have to resize the hp/power bars everytime (height wise, not width) i log in.
-----------------------
on the positive, i almost found the exact numbers i want the target/implied target window sizes to be. would it be easier if i just got back to u w/ the exact numbers i want for those?
at any rate, thank you for even trying this, i really appreciate it!
lemme kno what u want to do from here and i'll get back to u.

To make the target/implied target windows smaller is pretty easy. Refer to that line of code in my last post. In that string of code is Minimum size="x,x". Just change those values to desired size. Don't forget to change the size to be equal to the minimum size too.
As far as the player window, I didn't have problems with the bars resizing. Maybe post a screenshot so I can see what it looks like when you log in.
