Default Mastery Macro

I'm hoping someone can shed some light on an issue that I'm having with a particular Mastery macro. I can get the macro to work but not completely as expected. Apparently, the macro will not trigger a mastery skill dependant on the target type but rather simply by which ever one is listed next in the text file. I've come to the conclusion that this might just be because it’s a Fighter Mastery macro but I haven't tested the other classes to be sure. However, I have gotten confirmation from other players that their non-fighter macros are working according to target type.

Command = /do_file_commands Mastery.txt

Text file includes the following:

useability Clockwork Master's Rage
useability Djinn Master's Rage
useability Giant Master's Rage
useability Goblin Master's Rage
useability Lizardman Master's Rage
useability Minotaur Master's Rage
useability Orc Master's Rage
useability Skeleton Master's Rage

NOTE: I've tried adding the ";" after each line but it didn't make any difference.

I was told that if it were working properly I should get some combat text along the lines of "creature of that type not found" over and over until it finally found the target mob type and triggered the appropriate Mastery. I do not get any such text.

So in essence the problem is that if I were fighting a Giant and clicked the macro the Clockwork Master's Rage triggers. I would have to click the macro 3 times total in order to get the Giant Master's Rage to trigger.

Any insight would be highly appreciated. Thank you.

You cannot macro that for fighter types. Other classes get a nuke that does only fire on the correct target type, which is why it works for them.

Btw the entire creature mastery mechanic will be changed with the next game update, so you won't need macros anymore.

If it does not work, you likely installed it incorrectly. Always try a clean install before reporting bugs.

Yeah, I heard about that coming in GU31 but I just found out about the macros and wanted to see if I could get them to work up until the change.

Thanks for the confirmation that this is a "fighter" type issue. I had figured that since the other mastery skill triggered immediately on the target and the fighters didn't that that would be the problem.

Thanks again.

I posted in my Mastery thread with the macro text in the eq2 forums that you could not use the macro with fighter Mastery spells because they are a proc, not a spell cast on a mob type.

The macro works great for all of the mage/priest and scout classes but because of the way the fighter mastery is you cannot macro it.

The full macro is posted here for any who might want to try it.

It is all explained in the post =)

Thanks for the link. I was working off of a post on our guild forum that only included the original text and didn't have a link to the original thread. I didn't even think to look on the Tips & Tricks board.

Thanks for the responses.
