I am by no means a designer. And I'm a big fan of Valdacil's mods. Now with that said I like to make/update a mod to better suit my needs and then share what i have done as everyone here has shared thier work with me

Very Very nice Journal.
This is definately the best journal I have seen thus far.

I have however found something kind of buggy. Sometimes when you click on a quest in the quest tree, the displayed info in the right pain does not show properly. it will show the top half of the info but the bottom half of the right pain seems to be covered by some invisible window. If you click to a different quest in the quest tree and come back to the first quest it will show you the whole of the info in the right pane properly. I have not been able to determine the cause of this but when trying to duplicate it its better to use a quest with a rather long quest description. Hope that all made sense.

I think I noticed this last night, but it was before I upgraded to today's latest (if that changed anything).

I only noticed it once, but the last line of the checklist/description on the right pane was up over the line above it (or maybe more than 1 line). I resized it left, and then back and it was fine. But, I only noticed this happen once. And, it might have been when I switched beween characters (that seems to screw some things up once in a while).

Thats the known issue with it ... I think it has to do with size of of the Journal. If I push the minimum size higher, it seems to fix the issue, but then you are stuck with a larger journal. And as I run on a 1024 X 768 screen .. smaller is better. I've also noticed that when this happens, simply resizing the Journal also corrects the problem .... I'm still puzzled as to why it does this and have checked for any window that would cause this. I have also tried setting minimum size on the detail box, alas the problem presists. I am welcome to any information to help fix this.

Comparing the original to my mod ... going line by line .. lol ... hopefully I can find the problem. Found a couple of differences already that seemed to occur when I saved the mod with the UI Builder... Will keep everyone posted.

Are you using absolute or proportional for the quest detail pane? as I have noticed that one or the other messes up in game depending on what the original size was for the window prior to loading a new one in.... If that makes much sense as well lol

I'd reskinned Valdacil's journal mod for my Draco'Kyn UI, and if you don't mind, I'd like to do the same with the buttonized version of yours. Valdacil's market / broker window was also on my list of things to tackle, but I've been very busy with another project, so that's a ways down the road.

Ok, I think I found the problem, thanks to Laffs for the direction to look. It has to do with the PackSize and PackSizeProp, the UI Builder generates values for these when you resize them and thus saves them into the xml. I simply removed them in the xml for the Active and the Group. Please try it out and let me know ... I've tested it quickly, but have not had a full test of it as of yet.

Exactly!! That, and I see no reason to try and "re-invent the wheel", when someone has done a better job of it than I probably could.

Found a bug ... When in a long quest .. ie HQ, and get update the Reward info disappears from every quest ... Think i got the solution to it . test it most the day and no problems so far.. Just uploaded it so should be avalible soon.

Thanks again Wulfgyr for the speedy repair to LU18 ... hopefully SOE will leave it alone for at least a week so I can get back to playing ... lol

Been missing journal like this from the ui I presently using (used to have). Plugged it in and all seems to be working fine.

Once ya have this info available in game is so hard to be without!!

That disappearing reward thing seems to still be happening with the Dracokyn skinned version not sure if it is still doing in the main version or not??

EDIT: I think this is only happening when i get into a group it may have something to do with the group quests tab...

I have become displacent with the game and have decided to leave for awhile, not sure when or even if Ill return. I can see from the others that at least I have given back to the community and for that I am glad ... I wish you all happy gaming now and for the time to come.

do you have to change something in ui.ini file to make this work?
