Yes, PLEASE change it back to the big red number dots. Or at least release an option to change it back. Those black dots are absolutely horrible.

Aye...mine are little tiny black dots....would be nice to have the 6 different color larger dots for group members again. Maybe that is a Fetish thing with the different colors, not really sure. It really is very difficult to see and find your group on the map now.

Probably the change eq2 made for the battlegrounds map. The eq2maps mod would crash you if you went to battlegrounds and Rothgar said he was going to fix that.

Hmm, I don't think I messed anything up with the xml, looks ok to me. I just made a slight change with the order of the elements, sometimes the client has a specific order hardcoded which it expects. Otherwise hope someone finds the real issue.

PS: A screenshot might be useful

What I noticed with my custom icons: the original icons had a black (transparent) background layer, on which was a colored circle (different for each group member) with a white number in it. What I get now (ignoring the size change) is something with a transparent background on which is a black circle with a number the color the circle ought to be. Is it possible there's been a change in how the layers in the .dds files are interpreted?

The original eq2map icons did not just have numbers but "F2" to "F6", so if the F is gone they are probably hardcoding the icons now. ProfitUI on the other hand only had numbers and no different colors at all. If it looks the same there now as in with default EQ2MAP that would confirm that the client is actually ignoring the image file now. But difficult to say without a screenshot.

If it does not work, you likely installed it incorrectly. Always try a clean install before reporting bugs.

It appears that SOE has made a change where instead of using a colored image they made it a plain image that they are then coloring over.

We're looking into a solution for this issue, however since it was something SOE changed it may take some time to get fixed. Stay tuned.

+1 the dots suck, you cant find people on the map anymore. Was this an eq2maps change or one with SOE, anyone know yet?

The client currently forces the coloring on us. To quote from the EQ2MAP team forums:

I'm going to lock and sticky this thread for now since there is nothing else to be said on the matter at the moment. Rest assured that as soon as SOE gives us the possibility we'll get the dots back to a more visible state.

edit: unstickied, the issue has been fixed.
