Not working with old map graphic

I'm trying to get EQ Maps to work with the old style graphic. If I use the new EQ2 map style the POI's show up fine. But if I switch to the older style they disappear. Any ideas on how to get it to work in the older version? I have .NET 3.0 running on XP.
