I'm not sure how Himay's bar looks or what it does exactly, but you could use the two separate windows I have in ProfitUI:

_ProfitUI_SoundControls.xml
_ProfitUI_VideoControls.xml

They are not exactly tiny however so they may not be what you are looking for.

EDIT: Here's a link to the quite old screenshot from my download post: link (lower left corner). Vid controls is still the same I think, sound controls has all possible sound options on it (I think even more than you get in Alt-O if I remember correctly).

If it does not work, you likely installed it incorrectly. Always try a clean install before reporting bugs.
