Default Could anyone recommend a good, simple, free hex editor?

I'm putting together a new guide and I'd like to be able to link to a simple, free hex editor.

Try this one http://mh-nexus.de/hxd/. Not really simple, but of course it can do the simple stuff too.

If it does not work, you likely installed it incorrectly. Always try a clean install before reporting bugs.

I'm using HHD Software's hex editor. No complaints about anything, search/goto functions work, adds a right-click command to all file context menus. It was freeware (including freedom to redistribute, so you can probably still find it somewhere) when I downloaded it (v2.0), current version is trialware (v 3.12).

Cool, thanks! I ended up looking at wikipedia and got HxD since it's really simple and straightforward.
