To work on your UI you can found the same as Beta on the Test-Server. There you can play without the Beta Invite and has the same changes like the EOF Beta ones.

Been using ProfitUI for a few days now and really liking it, very handy as a healer but I do have one problem.
Sometimes when I target someone in the grouplist/window, it assists that person instead of just targetting the person which can be quite annoying for a healer.
Is there an auto-assist function I can turn off?
Sorry if the solution has already been given in these 62 pages of posts lol I did my best to look through it and did not find it.

When you click a group member's name, it's like hitting an assist key. You have to target their hp/pwr bar carefully in order to just target them. I've found myself wishing fora version without this feature as well, being a healer.

Quest Journal Issues
I've been having problems with the quest journal. After logging in and bringing up the quest window, the quest detail section on the rhs will not display. It seems to be stuck on one quest. After selecting different quests, it will continue to display the same detail information until you've actually gone out and updated a quest. Then it seems to revert back to normal for that game session. Upon relogging in, the quest details appear "stuck" again. Any suggestions?
I've updated DirectX, and reloaded the ui and neither seems to fix the issue.

hey Gman glad to see your still playing and keeping the dream of Profit UI going... I have to say its come a long way and your way more perficent at this stuff than me. I gave up trying to make good looking and functional mods for The Profit Line since you came along i'm just the average user ne more... keep up the good work bro...

Hey, I just got a beta invite an hour ago. They sure send them out late! That means I can take a look at this during the weekend so should be able to put out a working release just in time. Edit to add: I guess I'm not the only one that got an invite, the patcher downloads at a trickle of 30 KB/s. No guarantee that it will be finished by the weekend.
Blackmere, I had that once so far, restarting them game fixed it. I see no reason why it would be related to the UI however (the data in the journal is pushed from the server, the only difference to the default UI is the arrangement on the screen).

yay, I also got mine too today, a much quicker way to dl the beta is to just copy everything in your main EQ2 folder into the beta folder you download. That helped me A LOT

In fact, someone posted that there were problems with ProfitUI in beta, and a dev said that if someone could contact you to send them a message you would get an invite as developer of the UI.

It is? Is that in the current release or the next one you're working on? After reading that I tried to play around with window settings etc and just couldn't figure out how to get a side by side view. I don't want buffs or anything, but it would sure help doing timed writs if I could select my next recipe while working on the current one.

It has been side-by-side for a number of releases now.
You can permanently switch it via the window settings or do it on the fly by clicking the expand/shrink button on the title bar of the window.
And I use it for writs as well, very useful.

Download the newest version again and install it. Then once it's reinstalled, go to the corners for a small square which you can use to drag the hotbar. I had the same problem and fixed it like that.

You can use ProfitUI Beta version posted in this forum by gm9 on 10/29/06 ( page 61 of the thread ) minus the eq2ui_mainhud_mainchat and eq2ui_mainhud_hotkey files. You can use chat window posted by Raesoth ( at the top of this page ) instead, it works for me atm. I havent found replacement for hotkeys yet, so i use the default eq2 version. Ones in the beta version of Profit seem to have an issue with tooltips ( not only the hotbar tooltips but items and buffs as well which is why i went beck to default hotkeys ).
Edit : I am not sure about raid window as i have not tested it.
Speaking of hotkeys, I got a question for you gm9, will the hotkeys in next release look like in beta? I really like the borderless and clear hotkeys in current version. I would be awesome if it was possible to keep the current look  . Just an opinion anyway as I have no clue what devs changed or how those changes impact your design. Of course, just keeping the compact form will make me happy as the dead space is what i dislike the most about the default hotkeys.
Profit is truly my favorite UI, thanks for keeping it up

I haven't even finished downloading beta yet.
Don't expect a fixed version from me while beta is still running. I'll try to get the UI done during the weekend to be ready when EoF goes live. I have absolutely no time for things like that during the week due to my job (and not really during the weekend either, heh  ). Just do what Oakayam said, he seems to know what he is doing.
And yes, I will keep the hotbars in the current design (if possible).

using _eq2ui_mainhud_groupmembers horizontal compact, it does not show the 6th member. is there a fix for the group UI?

Are you sure the window is not resizable so you can make it wider? I remember someone already reporting this a while ago but I thought I had fixed it by allowing it to be resized (because on my installation the 6th member shows by default, but some versions/localizations of the game get it wrong).
I'll have a look at that window again however (I still have to fix the cure code in all group windows anyway).

Btw I have now finished downloading the beta and have just logged in with the most evil looking fae there will be.
The UI works fine with only the files in my post from the download page. Also the hotbars are fine, I do not understand why you said to remove them, Oakayam. /shrugs

Only problem i have had with UI in beta is the Char select / Char creation screens come up with no UI when i load Profit. In-game i have had problems with some fonts, but nothing else.
This is using the beta package named ProfitUI 2.9.0 BETA.zip that was posted by GM9.

Works just fine for me. Have you deleted your old Profit UI folder and doen a clean install?

Hey Gman, think you could take a look at the new, smaller dialog boxes on beta? Seems like there's a minor display issue with em using Profit...a little black line above the box area, might need to clean the code up or something I dunno.
Also could you fix the map window? I'm not sure if it's the EQ2 map set window or what, but I"m used to a map window with the location finder field at the bottom. Would be very handy to have in EoF, but any map window except default doesn't display the EoF maps.
