As I wasn't willing to let Jaxel beat me at my own "stuff lots of reference info into mods" game, I stole -- er, borrowed -- the new heritage quest walk-thrus from his quest journal and added them to mine. I did implement them a bit differently, though, sticking with my established "tab and subtab" system rather than taking up a lot of horizontal space with buttons as he did.

I've also moved all of the reference info which appears in my help window, guild window and quest journal out of the XML files and into a set of simple text files for easier editing and reuse (by me or by other modders).

Hehe... for reference, you may want to zip your files up in BINARY format instead of ASCII. When you save them in ASCII, they tend to forget their notepad orientation and spacing.

I don't use Notepad; I use TextPad. And while either program will display the "info" text files just fine, Notepad won't display the XML files correctly after I've edited them in TextPad. It doesn't seem to recognize line breaks. I'm not particularly worried about it, though, as I've never liked Notepad anyway. :P

Aye... but what I am saying, since you have textpad set up to save files in ASCII format instead of Binary... it throws away the line breaks.

TextPad may not put in line breaks that Notepad is able to recognize, but it's certainly not "throwing away" any line breaks. Files are still formatted perfectly when loaded back into TextPad, and work just as they're supposed to in the game. (XML files are read correctly, and data files are displayed correctly.) So I'm afraid I really don't see any problem, other than that Notepad's deficient. *Shrug*

I just wanted to note that the Quest Journal mod has been updated. I've added the "hunting guide" from my Help window mod, and also improved the existing info content, correcting various minor errors and omissions.

On behalf of all ThorUI users, I wanted to say thank you for such an excellent mod!
Your work is top notch and ThorUI wouldn't be what it is today without it!

I downloaded and installed your UI today.

After I start EQ II, choose my char and the "Zoneinformation is loading" (I don't know the exact translation since I am using the german EQ II) my computer freezes. After I removed your UI EQ II works fine! Any suggestions?

This is a great Journal mod I love it. There's only one problem I seem to have. When I goto the Heritage quest tab, and scroll all the way to the right, and say click on the last tab, the left button no longer works.

Seems to happen every time, not sure why.

This problem has been pointed out by others, as well. I haven't had a chance to look at it yet -- it's been a very full week with National Coming Out Day events keeping me pretty busy when not at work -- but I hope to get it straightened out (and several of my other mods updated) within the next few days.

Did you ever figure out what was causing the tab scroll problem? I used your code for tab scrolls on my Spell List and it also suffers from the problem. If you figure anything out, please let me know.

Not implying you need any help as you are certainly "The One" for everyone's help and journal window mods.
Amazing work as always my friend.
In your absence I made a revised version based off the revised SOE default Help and Journal Windows.

I've included all text within the XML except for the notes which I've provided as include statements.

Feel free to use anything within if it will help you in any way.
And as always no credit is needed as we wouldn't even be where we are with those windows today if it wasn't for all your hard work and ingenuity.

Everything is of course standard issue with the ThorUI AU

(See Attachment)
