Default Max Camera Distance

I read in here someone wanting to be able to scroll the camera out further.

/ics_maxcameradistance 10.0

Type the command and then scroll out.

The range is 0.0 to 10.0

If you prefer to have your camera closer in. Then you can set it to a number and it will not go past that point.

5.0 Seems about Default.

My girlfriend who is a mystic plays with the camera very close behind her head all the time. I play as far out as I can get the camera.

She used the command to set the camera to 3.0, she likes it CLOSE.
So the camera will NOT scroll out past that point. It's very nice for her.

Of course tonight she turned into a bear and got nice big screen of bear butt!
lol. So keep the command handy.

Also, it doesn't save. So each time you play the game you have to do it.
Macros? Mods? LOL

So you will notice there is also
/ics_defaultdistance
/ics_defaultpitch1stp
/ics_defaultpitch3rdp

and a few others.
I 'think' the defaultpitch1stp is where the camera pauses when you scroll out, then it automatically flys back slowly a bit more. I've not been able to test those yet.

EDIT: LIVE UPDATE #6 Has now included this option in the User Interface View Options!

You might be able to put it in the eq2_recent.ini

I've not tried that.

I have a macro set up for it now. I'ts very groovy when out in the big areas like antonica and TS.

Good find Kosmos. There have been many situations where I would have liked to zoom out further. Specialy when fighting giant, very large mobs and such.

I've not yet killed a giant, but I can expect it would be extra hand for those encounters! I hadn't though about that.

Good find! They're slipping more junk for us to play with into the game all the time it seems like.

Edit: It works great in eq2.ini.

Code:
cl_ui_skinname Mook
cl_ui_subdir UI/
ics_maxcameradistance 10.0

When I tested it yesterday 10.0 was the highest setting that seemed to make any difference. Maybe it's based on some other setting as well?

I just tested this, and anything greater than 10.0 doesn't add any more zoom distance.
