Blured UI Backgrounds

I've installed the latest Tyejae Steel bottom by Perdition - V8 UI and it works fine but with two problems.

The basic UI backgrounds seem to be coming in as lowres jaggy images you can really see it in the compas image (some sort of mipmap problem?)

And a lesser problem is when I log on the chat window at the lower left doesn't show until I actually start to type a command.
