Stops on 1%.. Fails to get any further

Hi ppls.. i have Vista and the EQ2 updater... when i run the exe file it asks for the EQ2.exe file then initialises but fails to get any further than 1%. Ive tried dissabling the Anti virus, adjusting windows firewall...running as admin and even installing as administrator, but havent been able to make the updater get past 1%. Whats the go... ppl have told me how good this program is and i want to run it..

Any help would be helpful

Have you tried disabling the UAC? Pretty much any of the numerous times I've had to deal with issues on Vista machines, this has been the culprit. Once I 'put down' this rabid watchdog......Presto! Any issue I was dealing with disappears!
