HELP : eq2map updater

i've downloaded the program (SEVERAL TIMES). have run the setup. (SEVERAL TIMES). and when i click on the icon on my desktop the following message ALWAYS APPEARS:

"EQ2MAP Updater has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. "

I've TRIED to search the forums for the same problem but don't seem to find it. CAN ANYONE HELP ME?
I'm currently without maps.

Being you are having trouble with that one try EQ2 Henchman for updating the map. Maybe you will have better luck with it.

This looks like a good suggestion, its better to use Henchman then re-install windows
