There is no Cancel button in settings if i mess anything up
Nothing happends if you press Update in UI List tab.
If you press update 2 times in a row inside a UI tab you get a error and all buttons grey out.
If you use this settings you can't get into the program again, it will launch EQ2 then exit.
Code:
<EQ2C>
<FirstTime>-1</FirstTime>
<EQ2AutoRun>-1</EQ2AutoRun>
<EQ2RunNoPatcher StationLauncher="0">0</EQ2RunNoPatcher>
<QuickSwitchMaintain>0</QuickSwitchMaintain>
<TestServer>0</TestServer>
<BookMarksMaintain>0</BookMarksMaintain>
<EQ2MAPMaintain>-1</EQ2MAPMaintain>
<InterfaceManage>0</InterfaceManage>
<PlayerC2CMaintain>0</PlayerC2CMaintain>
<GroupC2CMaintain>0</GroupC2CMaintain>
<RaidC2C>0</RaidC2C>
<CloseOnRun>0</CloseOnRun>
<AllowAutoUpdating>-1</AllowAutoUpdating>
</EQ2C>

I vote for Zonx' proposal.
Bugs:
- Starting it up, message box about no registry entry found has a ... gasp .. typo: "proved" -> "provide". After clicking ok, IMO the file path selection should pop up automatically. It is still non-intuitive that you then have to click "Save" before being able to do anything else. After path selection, you should either just save it automatically or pop up a yes/no window.
- Possibly only a typo: Settings -> Companion settings -> Run EQTest.exe should probably be TestEQ2.exe (IIRC). You'll have to test what it actually launches.
- Hmm, last time I tested proxy support it was at home with a software proxy I loaded on the same machine. It does not function at work. Maybe it is filtering on the browser string...
- Actually I got it to partially work with one of 3 proxies of our organisation. it makes a connection but then fails for unknown reasons.
- If the interface tab connection fails, the error message EIdSocketErrorError should be renamed to EIdSocketError and has missing spaces where between "intowww" and "youwill". Also change "model" -> "module". The following error may be due to this: When on the interfaces tab clicking to "add" an interface it asks me for every page I browse to on eq2interface whether I want to add this "interface" to my favorites on eq2interface. When I click no, sometimes the box pops up again immediately. Also I cannot browse to the front page of eq2interface in that browser box, clicking on "Home" on the page just does nothing (click any other link works fine).
- If the Interface tab connection generates an error after the login was successful you cannot exit the application (that will generate an "EListError Error"), you need to kill it via task manager.
- If the EQ2MAP connection fails, you still cannot change any settings since it hangs at updating and blocks any changes during this time. You need to exit and delete your eq2c settings .xml to be able to change settings.
- The eq2map connection error message box has two typos "cancle" -> "cancel" and "Can not" -> "Cannot".
- Not sure if intentional or type, but suggest to rename the tab "BookMarks" -> "Bookmarks".
- Personally I find it confusing that you abbreviate click-to-cure and click-to-cast both with C2C. But I guess that's possibly just me because my UI has both types of C2C on both group and raid windows.
Copy and paste the following into your C2C info box (too many typos to list individually) up until the examples you have in there. Fix the headline from "Instcutions & Exmaples" -> "Instructions & Examples" and above it "Legoned" -> "Legend" (personally I would just remove the "Legend" frame though):

Basic Rules to Follow
---------------------------------
* Type anything you like, special characters such as ", ', >, etc. will be converted for you.
* Each line must start with a command. Most commands that you would use in a macro are supported, including emotes.
* Command lines cannot be broken up into multiple lines.
Do not worry too much about making an error. If there is an error in your command line, you will be informed of the error and where it is at.
Command Aliases
----------------------
uaop = useabilityonplayer
ua = useability
vdl = use_itemvdl
(you can use either the alias or the full command)

I say you release with RoK and just wait to polish it a bit more.
I like Zonx's idea way more!

That is by design, If there is no updates available nothing will be updated. To force an update you have to use the update button while said UI tab is active.

I can't reproduce this. I click update, the button changes to cancel I click it again and the update cancels. Does this even if I double click the button, our click it twice with a small pause.

Fixed, it will not close if you do not have it set that way in the settings.

Then you should disable the update button in UI List.

Build 1.0A Change Log: - added a Cancel button to the settings window.
- Fixed a bug that was closing EQ2 Companion even if you had it set not to.
- If EQ2 Companion can't read EverQuest II's path from the registry it will open up the brows dialog.
- If you cancel out of the brows dialog and there is not a valid EverQuest II path it will display a warning dialog.
- If you make changes to EverQuest II's path, language or UI and try to change the Main tab with out saving it will display a informational dialog.
- If you make changes to EverQuest II's path, language or UI while an update is in progress it will deny the change but remember you tried to make a change and remind you of the change on exit if the change hasn't already been saved.
- You can no longer change tabs while EQ2 Companion is initializing.
- Corrected EQTest to TestEQ2.exe label and filename.
- Corrected spelling errors and used gm9's instruction he posted for C2C.
- Removed the groupbox "Legoned"
- Fixed another bug where it couldn't create the UI zip file.
- The update button is now disabled in the UI List tab if there isn't any UI with a update available
- Hopefully fixed a bug that would cause the user to have to use the task manager to exit the app if the connection errored while getting the users favorites list.

the typo "accurded" -> "occured" for unhandled error messages is still there btw (in the "small print").
And still have to use task manager to exit under connection error conditions ("EListError Error").
Finally I would prefer to receive Special thanks, not "Spacial thanks", and I'd like to remark that "fine tuning" is an understatement.
Haven't tested anything else. /

You and your proxy are going to receive special thanks alright!!
I am having to simulate your connection error as I can not reproduce it. You get that error right after you log-in to eq2interface? Try removing all UI from your fave list and see if you still get that error if you don't mind. :P
Does the EQ2MAP part work with your work proxy fully?

The connection error comes up right after login, it's a EAccessViolation Error in TUIBase. I'm too lazy to remove my favorites though, but I will just assume that without anything on the list I would not get an error.
And nothing works fully with the proxy at work, sorry. Only the software proxy I had on loopback at home worked. But just ignore it please and spend the time fixing important functionality.

Installers are annoying, but I agree, people will expect one (not so much for uninstalling really, just for installing).

The icon needs to be lighter, I can barely see it on desktop.

Grr Trying to come up with a real name. I just do not feel right using companion.
Compadray? :P
Maybe It should just be known as EQ2C :P That would make my life easier.
