the way i converted them was opening up a big ddf in paint shop pro, then copy and paste the new map in there. Resized and saved with a short name.

to edit the notes you have to go inside the journal_quest.xml file that is in there and edit the 1, 2, 3. Havent figured out a way to allow you to edit them in-game yet. When and if i do i will post it as an actual mod. Until then...youll just have to know what ya meant when you drag the 1, 2, etc there

Eloa,
Instead of putting everything inside the eq2ui_mainhud.xml, i recommend you put in

<include>eq2ui_mainhud_custommap.xml</include>

and put all your stuff in eq2ui_mainhud_custommap.xml, obviously

just makes more sense that way. Plus if people have certain windows listed above others it would change their layer order all to what your eq2ui_mainhud's order is.

I made one, but it wasn't complete and I didn't lilke the way it came out. COB is tough because of so much crap in the way along the walls, makes it hard to use our loc method of mapping. My stormhold maps came out nicely though.

The locations cannot be claimed as anyone's, but if the map was made by an individual that does not want it released, it will be removed asap.

I've got almost all of TS cleared out Eloa, I can get you a Screenshot of it tonight.

Oh should email fo0bar and get permission for his well done maps, apparently he is willing to give permission.

No need, I have people standing around watching this that have it cleared. I'm just waiting to see the differences, then I'll edit based on that

Well to be honest. I'd much rather we used the in game maps anyways there is a more crisp look to them in my opinion.

Someone post up a fully uncovered TS map and we can edit it up a lil. I just had a problem with someone claiming something that they have no right to, we can use any map.

Jeez, what a mess.

I'm gonna integrate the blackburrow map Tony did.

I'll do Forest Ruins later today, then we need it iconized (and any other newbie areas) before our first official release.

I claim no "ownership" of the maps used in our eq2ui_mainhud.map.xml, they are all originally someone elses work (a good number of them SOE's). In the readme included with qm_map_10.zip *************** is acknowledged for its great maps and information. As far as I'm concerned, any UI stuff is property of SOE. If they were to take this map window, and release it as if they had made it, I wouldn't make a peep.

As for Antonica, Mr. Bobble made it sound like you could replace Antonica, Commonlands, etc. but it may reset the fog layer so I haven't been willing to risk it yet.

Now, I'm dealing with flash floods here, so I'll be back to this subject this evening. After the first official release, my plan is to get maybe 2 higher level zones done per week.

Definately an interesting issue. Do we use someones work in these forums without permission? Would the maps be any different? What if they have errors in them?

It looks like we can place icons on the map using the formula so we just need 3D locs. I'll try to hit Forest Ruins tonight and get a set of locs for the different areas if no one beats me to it. Do we need 3D locs for Down Below and Vermin Snye?

http://www.darniaq.com/EQ2/Maps/eq2maps.htm Good maps here too.
