Default A couple more problems I'm having.

I had just downloaded the latest version, un-installed the old, then ran the installer. Everything was working great, but I never had to select a character ui file(Did you change this?). I then ran the control panel, it told me there was nothing new to downlaod, so I launch the game, but when I get there, I only have default ui. I tried /loadui, but there was only default there.
Also, when I tried to close the control panel I got this message "Access violation at address 00000022. Read of address 00000022." I ended up doing a ctrl+alt+del end task to get it to close, after which I can't bring up the control panel at all anymore, I click it, but nothing happens.
I've tried uninstalling and the re-installing it, I've even re-downloaded and get the same thing.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong here?

I also think the eq2.ini is not in the same place as U.S. installed clients. Because the AUCP reads this file to make sure eXtreme is the default UI. So if you didn't get a messagebox asking if you wanted to set eXtreme as your default UI then if found that file and seen eXtreme was set to default. Maybe post a Screen Shot of your everquest ii directory.

Any way; the uisettings did change, You can to it by going to settings-> advanced options ( its a button at the bottom). This will bring up a new window where you can select the uisettings.ini file you want to use along with the resolutions available.

No, I'm not in the US. I think I know what you mean about having to load it to a different file though, (I 've been using your UI for quite sometime now, and installed it many times as well). I Install Extreme UI to my LP_REGION_EN_US file, as I've done every other time. Anyway, I just downlaoded it and I'm gonna try it out when the servers come back again. I still can't find the background.dds :-/ I've searched everywhere and I can't find it. Also, on the CP, I can't close it either, again. I get the same message as before. Is it possible that somehow, I'm not getting the complete Extreme files?
I'd send you a screen shot of my EQ2 directory, but I'm not sure how to do that :-/

OK, I guess I deserve to be slapped for not reading your install directions and the note about those of us with non-US games... my bad. I'll try the work arround and see how that works out for me

Default Just gonna go back to older version for now

Well, I can't seem to make it work :-/ I tried adding a file called everquest2.exe, but it won't let me, cuz it says I already have one. I'll just keep looking back in for when you are able to work arround whatever is causing it not to install correctly and then try again, until then, I'm still very happy with version 2.2, so I'll stick with it.

Um Hi,

I have a couple of questions about the wonderfull and highly detailed interface that you have created and continue to update. My first question is about the map updater, When is updates and finnishes it states that it has skipped 10 files....why and isn't the files needed for a reason? Second I have noticed that when the interface completes it states that alot of the accual interface files includeing some from the info part are forign and asks me to delete them...i don't but, why is this and is there something i should do? it does state that these files can cause some problems is there something i should worry about? oops that was a third question <giggle>.

anything you could answer is great.

thank you and keep up the wonderful work

Ok, I'm working on getting ur issue fixed Bodhi. You actually can help me out with this. If you can tell me what files are in your EverqQuest II\LP_REGION_EN_US directory. And if any one knows, dose none U.S. installs have the EverQuest II\UI directory also?

To take a screen shot of your desktop just press the print screen key (prtscn) then go into some graphic/photo editing software such as mspaint and do edit->paste and it 'should' paste the snap shot there for you to save.

Zaran add cl_letter_box_amount 0.135000 to eq2.ini or eq2_recent.ini if you want to be able to change it. Then run AUCP and go to the settings tab and click on the advanced option button ( at the bottom of that page). This will open up a new window. There you can select the uisetting.ini file and a premade resolution file.

I have the same problem with the installer like Bodhi.
(Adress Violation)
I live in Germany but thats not the problem, I think.

On the last Update the updater loads the file "eXtremeUI_CP.tmp".
After download and Mapupdate the updater want to be restart itself.
But the window is still open and the updater have not the permissions to delete the eXtremeUI_CP.exe.
After the crash I copy manually the eXtremeUI_CP.tmp to eXtremeUI_CP.exe and all Adress Violations will be gone.

The 10 files in the EQ2MAP update you see it reporting as skipped are the 10 files that eq2map allows users to edit, so it never updates them.

The files that are being reported as foreign in the map updater are just that. They are not part of the current UI structure. The updater checks all fines in its directory vs the directory on the server and reports any files that are not on the server.

So if I remove or move any files it will report the old files on the local computer as foreign. In the case of the infocenter I moved that directory from the include directory to the UI's root directory.

It is save to delete any file that the CP reports as foreign, UNLESS you have added or modded the UI. In that case you need to add them files to the exclude list.

Oh thats good to know Wolffire.

I think I'll change the way it updates it self. Instead of having it download itself I'll have the CPPatcher down load it, that will stop the issue of the cppather not having access to delete files.

Default Screenshot...

Sadly, I wasn't able to get you a screenshot :-/ But, as far as what's in the EverQuest II\LP_REGION_EN_US, it's looks like an exact copy of what is in the Everquest II directory. The only differences would be that in this file I have a Cache file and login files.
I know this is probably not too much help, sorry.

so in LP_REGION_EN_US you also have the UI and log directories, along with eq2.ini, eq2_recent.ini? Basically the LP_REGION_EN_US is your base/root EQ2 directory? what is the command line in your eq2 shortcut?

Just wanted to update you. I installed the newest with no problems, love the ui. I use one of the alternate backgrounds, and the updater changes it each time. Is there a way to set it to leave the background file alone?

Yes in advanced options under exclude list, just add that file to the list and the updater will never look at it.

Default blank completion log

when i click on the completed tab in my quest journal itdoesnt show the name of the quests that i have finished which makes it hard to see if you have done certain quests or not like access quests. what can i do to fix this problem. it lists the number of each type of quest i have finished just not the name or description of the quests i have finished.

Looks like you may be missing some image files. When you run the CP does it report any missing or foreign files?

Just loaded eq up and I can see the names of the quest. Well at 1st the right side was blank until I clicked on a quest. Maybe I am misunderstanding you or something. Are you using the latest quest window that was added to the updater about a week or two ago?
