Default New Pet windows please! :P

Ok, I don't know if I'm the only one with this issue, but ... I really liked the Ol' Soontace pet window.

Compact. Plain. Simple. TEXT Based Buttons! *OMG I hate Pet Windows with ICONS*

I hardly used the other tabs on the window, but the main look on it I really liked. Can ANYONE here by any chance make a similar pet window? Same layout, removing the pet kill button too? BIG button with "Attack" text above, rest of misc buttons below? I was using that pet window almost since day one it came out. Can't beat old habits

Anyone? I totally hate the deafault pet window, but I'm a dummy with XML
Pretty Plz?

I HATE the pet window, it's all kinds of messed up tho. i think it's totally hardcoded. You can chage the look of the icons, but you can't change the size of the icons. So text based is impossible without it looking like crap.

Oh well, I'll try the pet window you posted. And on the other side it's a shame it cant be reworked over. That PET window is teh suq

Anyway if someone can make a better one I'll give j00 Vanilla Pie fer free on the Neriak Server with Free Orange Juice (Level 20 provisioner here)

There should be a way to change that window, there's always a way

I found no problems editing that window... Give me feed back on that.. I dont have pets so i cant really test it.

I uploaded a pic of my current UI, even though its a big improvement over the OLD pet, it could use some work still

AWESOME tho, to actually have a diff pet window, and thus, I thank you.

Was wondering, if u could make the buttons more or less look like ol' Soontace's? Say Attack on top on a big button and the rest in a small column? hmmm was wondering if there could be a way to make pet gauges more thick too, like Mook's ui style

Your basic design is something to work on. I dont think everybody likes the standard pet window! haha . Keep it up, I really enjoy UI's

Edit: After posting the pic, I began playing and fooling around in my usual way on EQ2, sadly (but fortunately) decided to go into the sewers on Freeport to kill some greys and finish some old quests. The pet window is broken, can't send pet to attack, or any other action, thanx goodness I decided to try it on greys instead of other mobs >:P

So none of the Buttons work at all? I dont have a pet Character, So i have a hard time testing..... Do the button hightlight? Show the graphic for being pushed?

Right. because it's hardcoded. You'll be able to push the button but nothing will happen.

I dont see how changing the ICON to a BUTTON should effect anything. But then again.... it is Sony. Is there a char with a pet on creation? If it has to be an icon then we can just make ICON's the size of buttons.

Nope. It does nothing. niet, zero, nada

The buttons are static, tho they sound if I click on them. But thats it. Perhaps it was too good to be true?

Acceptable-looking workaround for the button/icon problem: Added!

Command icons working: Check!

Thicker gauges: Added!

% text over gauges: Added!

Upload Complete!



(I'll be working on a more compact version. This is as far down as it could scale with the current button templates and method. I'll be making it smaller one way or another eventually.)

*Buttons don't work. Did you upload the correct version? The Icon code isn't in there at all.

*Pet name text doesn't show up. You need to change Font="/Fonts.Font_Arial" to either Font="/Fonts.FontArial14" or Font="/Fonts.FontArialBold15" (Also, there's no need to include arial.ttf for anything

*Window isn't moveable for some reason.

The Test server (where I have my Summoner) is currently locked.

Looking at the XML, though, it still won't work. You need to add

GetsInput="false"

to the buttons so they don't block the icons.

(And you still need to change the font on the pet name and remove arial.ttf from the zip file. )

I'll change what's needed and verify it works once the Test server comes back up. Once it's verified I'll attach it here.

why do you think i need to change the font name? My UI has an added font. You'll need the font xml but i didnt provide it just to test.
