Default INI File for 1280x1024 Resolution

Hello All,

I run my UI at 1280x1024 resolution so for those that have problems with the UI running at that resolution I've attached a copy of my INI file. Hope this helps

Just remember to make a backup copy of your original .INI file and then extract this into your EQ2 folder and rename it to your character's .ini file

*** Commands, Controls, and User Interface ***

- UI windows have received a facelift: They are now more streamlined.
- Spell icons will now highlight red if the target is out of range or too close.
- The target window will now show spells active on your target.
- The death window now shows distances to respawn locations and sorts them by nearest to furthest. Locations in a different zone will not have a distance associated with them.
- Mouse cursor changes for actions (loot, hail, banking, merchant, etc.) will now happen at a further distance, but will be greyed out when out of range.
- Chat window text is now color-coded based on the type of chat you are using.
- Waypoints and Find NPC requests will now place a marker on your map in addition to the light trail if there is a map for your current zone.
- Clicking on the pet window will now target your pet.
- Shift + Page Up/Page Down will force mouseover opacity on the chat window (thanks, Mortac).
- The Mender "Repair All" button again has a total cost tooltip.
- You can now mouse over icons and text within the mender and merchant windows to see item tooltips.
- When countering a tradeskill event, the reaction art icon will become green or red whether you successfully countered the event or failed, respectively.
- There is now an Options tab in the Persona window that allows you perform the following functions at the click of a button:
* Character Flags: Anonymous, Roleplaying, Away From Keyboard, Looking For Group, Looking For Work
* Graphics: Hide My Hood or Helmet, Hide My Illusion Form
* Privacy: Decline Invitations to Duel, Decline Invitations to Trade, Decline Invitations to Join Groups, Decline Invitations to Join Raids, Decline Invitations to Join Guilds.
- The compass will again point in the right direction when resized.
- Your recipe book can again be sorted.
- You will now see the warning about your level being too low if you invite a high enough level player into your group from a different zone.
- Notification of heals in Combat/Spell chat will now give the spell that caused the heal.

Wow they never give up...

With all the new models on test, I havn't even had a chance to update it and test to make sure all windows will work.. So cross your fingers.. If you do find one that isn't working post and let me know.. I don't think they fixed the guild window select player bug but maybe they did.

SOE has jacked up my EQ1 UI now their working on screwing up the EQ2 UI...

I can't remember how to lock the UI for different toons? Can someone please tell me how?

Default Repair window

Hi Landiin,

Cool GUI, love it to death.

Question: In he previous version you could see the total cost of repair if you hovered over the "Repair All" button. This doesn't seem to be working anymore.... Any chance on fixing this??

Also, the XP box cuts off the figures a bit. Can I change it to a smaller font (if so, how?) or is this something you can fix...

Soe took out the cost tooltip, but they have put it back in on test so it'll be back in the next LU most likely.

I got this fixed and will be in the next update. I am hopeing to have it out by the next LU friday(I think).

Landiin, got a question for you about the UI on the test server. The fonts are all wrong .. they lost their flair and style .. probably not even reading the font thats on live. Whats needed to change that?

Actually there's a few things cosmetic not working ..

Seems that it loads default UI when logging into test .. so get the default splash screens and char selects.. then I have to do a /loadui and recamp to set it back to eXtreme.

Now can't capture the spash screens but the zone font is the same as the percentage sign and seems to be the same as whats in the health bar.
So seems to be its not loading the font .. though I'm sure I moved the fonts to the windows/font folder and installed myself (maybe I missed this one)

(and couldn't help showing off the human soga model sorry for the compression ... only way I could fit the post withing the filesize guidelines)
If there is anything else needed lemme know .. I'm around all day

Hmm yea, None to the custom fonts are being used.. Look in eq2test/ui/font and compare it with eq2/ui/font, I can't recall the fonts name off hand(I'm at work), You need to add the missing ones into the eq2test/ui/font folder also.

Okies .. copied the font folder over and that fixed that problem .. I overwrote was there and working now.

Whats the trick to make the UI load at startup on test .. don't see the eq.ini file.. do I need to make one or does the test server use a different ini file??

yes jsut copy the one form your eq2 folder to your eq2test folder

those fonts in that screenie are the optional one selectable in the game. it just changes the ones in the ui if they're on. must be on by default now. eh, you fixed it though....

Im sorry if this is a really dumb question, but I have my UI set up the way I like right now but would love to try this one to see if it would work for me.. How difficult would it be to switch back and forth between them? cause I currently have eq2maps and it looks like it installed in a customeui directory, and I would like to keep my current ui and eq2maps all working and switch to this one and try it out and still use eq2maps and be able to go back if needed.. my ui is all just stock stuff moved around to a way i like plus I replaced the xp bar with one i found here and just threw it into the customui folder.. I just want to make sure I dont overwrite my current one. Thanks!

Hi just letting you know that there is a bug in the help section
When you try to search the knowledge base no matter how many times you press search. It doesnt do anything.
I had to use /loadui to reset to default just to do the search. Not a big problem. Just thought you should know about it

Hello dping28, All you need to do is down the ui installer and run it. It will install the ui and set it up for you, eq2maps come with this UI and at the end of the install it will give u the option to update eq2maps or not. You will also want to grab the patch and unzip it into the extreme folder after you complete the install.

If you deside to go back to your old UI just uninstall extreme or change the folder name in the eq2ui.ini file in your everquest2 folder. When you install extreme it will want to adjust your uisettings file to place all windows in the correct locationg and it will also back up your current ui file. So if you do deside to go back all you have to do edit the backed up files name by takeing back_ off it.

Yes I do know about this and it is addressed in the next update which should be out around sunday.

I am shooting for this Sunday, sadly there will be no new options/features in this release. This release is basicaly getting the UI cought up internally. SOE changed the way they structer the windows and other things so really I am having to rewrite my styles code ( no I don't have to do that but I like to keep it parrellel(sp) with the way SOE hase theres). I will have the harvest button working even if I don't get time to put in all of the new T6 stuff. As far as the quick switch button, I hate to use the authers work but after the next update it will brake because of the styles change. If I have time I may add it or I may just pm the auther the new style so they can get it updated.

Oh yea some things have changed, I have moved the stat bar over to where the profermance pannel is and made it the default(top) page. You can rotate the page to stats,profermance, exp. I moved the quest name to where the stats where and moveing the 5 big inventory windows up and makeing the verry small inventory windows bigger so you can see them bigger. You will still be able to expand the inventory as you do now also.

We still have a problem with the search window.
When searching for other players you can not choose class, alignment, or race.
It does not give you the drop down window?

Hello Lakerss3, Thanks for posting a bug how ever I do know about this one and It will be addressed in the next up. 2.16. I was going to try to have it out this sunday but with the added slots to the inventory they are adding I don't know if I'll be able to get it out by then as there is a lot of location movement in my inventory. I am hopeing I'll be ready for it by friday morning when LU16 goes live.

In your "spare time" could you make a caster oriented exp bar (something like a symetrical staff rather than the sword)?

UI is pretty cool, still finding new widgets

Staff for the casters would be kewl but not sure how much work that would be when it comes down to the widgets .. I found a staff that I think would work and I'm attaching it here .. maybe some with more coding experience can pick this up and make it happen.

Any thoughts on this?? Image is in the photoshop native format to prevent compression and artifacting.

I'll see what I can do Just remember the stat has to be thick enough to house the 3 bars that make up the exp bar.
