Istoff, sounds like your character_server_settings.ini is corrupt. A replacement file was uploaded to the FetishClassic support thread that reportedly fixes this SOE bug.

Forgive me if this is posted someplace else, but I searched around and didn't find any mention of it. I am using Fetish Nightfall with the Goth Theme, and I have a problem with the scroll bars.
I've only noticed this happen with the recipe window and the chat windows. What happens with the receipie window is this: When I open it the grabable part of the scroll bar takes up the whole bar. No problem, I close it, open it, and it doesnt happen again. However, now, only when I use an unfiltered recipe list, the grabable part of the scroll bar is not visible. I can scroll with the mouse wheel, but I can't drag the scrollbar.
For the chat window, the scrollbar grabby thing (no idea what its called) also disappears sometimes...not sure when or why. I'm guessing maybe it has something to do with the amount if text (based on the recipe book) but I have no idea.

While I'm posting I have 2 questions on if something is possible and if so how:
I noticed you can make the chat box click though through the options. I also noticed a command called boundarypolygon. I played with it but couldnt get it to work. Is it possibly to make a portion of another window clickthrough?
Second... when reading in-game books, they anchor at the top. So, as you turn the pages the windows are different sizes, and the "next page" button moves. Is it possibly to make it anchor the next window on the bottom, so I can quickly turn the pages?

Goth theme is for Fetish Classic...

Blues is for Fetish Nightfall...

Perhaps using the goth theme on a UI it wasn't designed for is what's causing part of your troubles???

(just a thought)

Hello, love the way it looks, but I am having trouble installing the ui.

I have it downloaded into D:eq2/ui and all the files are in the folder named "Fetish". I made the eq2.ini file and saved it in D:eq2.

For some reason when i load the game it gives me the default ui.

Ill redownload and try again in the meantime

Right click the .ini file you made and choose properties Make sure the file type is configuration settings and not text document.

If it is text document, in windows expleorer choose tools, folder options, then view and make sure to uncheck hide extension for known file types. Delete the .txt at the end of the file name.

hmm..It is saved as a text file but when i right click it and look at properties it says that its saved as a configuration file. Im not quite sure what you meant about opening windows explorer and what not.. i looked under tools and the option u said wasnt there.

another thing is that the .ini file only says, "eq2" when i click it in the D:eq2..so shouldnt it be eq2.ini ?

Windows explorer, press the windows key and the e key at the same time. The windows key is the one between ctrl and alt on the lower left. From that screen your tools menu at the top should have a folders options.

Yes it should ay eq2.ini but it sounds like the optin to hide known file extensions is turned on.

alright, i unhid the tags or whatever, and it turned out i had it as eq2.ini.ini

i renamed it eq2.ini and it still didnt work

Every time I log into the game, regardless of the character, all but 2 of my chat windows disappear, and the fonts sizes reset from what I set them to and are now at 20. The first new chat window I open has the chat filter options saved, but position, size, and other window settings are at default. I had this issue a long time ago, but it was resolved with a patch SOE released a couple months ago. All I've done since then was update your Fetish Nightfall UI. I've completely deleted the Fetish folder and installed all files from the zip you provide, but that doesn't correct it. I've also deleted my existing character.ini files and rebuilt them from game default. All other windows save except for the two chat windows.

I'm sorry if I missed a thread that has the solution to this in it. I searched everywhere I could think of and didn't see anything that looked like it applied to my problem.

Clink, read the FetishNightfall.doc.

zorander, sounds like you have a corupted character_server_settings.ini file. This is a SOE bug. You must REPLACE the file with an uncorupt version or SOE will simply pump down another corupt version. Search the FetishClassic support thread for a replacement file someone attached there. I believe someone also added it to the downloads.

Zorander, Not sure if this will fix everything but I was having a problem with my chattext not saving either, it was always resetting to 17. What I ended up doing was opening my RECENT settings ini (whatever its called, I cannot look this up as I dont have the game installed -- comp died) while I was in game and changed the line where it says chat_fontsize from the size it had to the size I wanted. I also made sure that my font in game was the size I wanted. Then I camped to desktop, and the problem was solved. I suggest backing it up before fiddling with it, if you intend to go this route.

Hello Zonx. i know that this ui, the nightfall one, is simply from splash screen to finish, but i was wondering if you plan on working on the beginning of the setup. i have one minor suggestion if you do think of working on everything. can you set it up so that SOE will have "I Agree" be the default so that i can press the enter key when it comes up? as it is, i have to guess where it is, and have my mouse ready to click on it. it's a minor thing, but it would sure be nice to have that option ready for the enter key right away. you've done a fantastic job with the ui so far, my husband and i thoroughly despise the default ui and cry when we have to delete this one because of incompatabilities that sometimes turn up with updates. and when i say cry, i mean it literally. my husband was in a towering rage because SOE screwed up the ui files one time with one of their updates, the one that first started messing with the guild window, i think. he was so pissed because he had to delete nightfall because we kept on crashing too often. it was ironic tho, two hours after he deleted it, you had the update up. lol

Unfortunatly the patcher is an entierly seperate program I don't think we can mod without breaking the EULA. Prety sure SOE keeps the "I Agree" button as a must click thing for legal reasons.

Can anyone here tell me how to disable the scrollbar in Fetish Classic (Gothic) i never use it and i would like to konw how to errase it and if possible the stealth chat option too???

Funny thing about that is that they do provide us with the PNG files (i think thats what they are) somewhere in the Station folder. And there is a folder called "skins" or something. They also give us several XML files in various folders as well. As to the modability though *shrug*

Hello Boya and Girls, I was having the .ini bug with the fetish Nightfall mod and i followed Zonx advise and to no avil even after i downloaded the "Clean .ini" it still did not save. I called SoE tech support and they stated that the last update had a bug where it doesnt matter what you do to the ui when you log out the Default.ini saves over the character setup. The Tech said to make the ini file work you needed to run in windowed mode and save the ini files to a seperate directory before you log out. Then before you launch the game the next time copy those .ini back to the main EQ2 directory. This will have to be done every time until SoE figures out what they goofed on. This pertains to any extra chat windows and font settings you wish to keep. The tech said this is the only workaround they had at the moment.

Thanks for the info Istoff.

I tried what Zonx and dc_roenfanz said to do, but all that changed by using the provided .ini file from the classic thread is now 3 windows remain between log-ins instead of 1. The fonts are still resetting and any windows beyond the first 3 are gone. Guess I'll have to wait for SOE to patch again.

Big thanks to Zonx for providing this awesome UI as well as providing such timely support. Thanks to everyone else as well who's helping us novices out with these kinks that SOE throws in just to make life hard on us all.

Hiya Zonx

I seem to be getting a small problem with the ui when in a full group (ie 6 )

when in a full group the buttons for disband etc dissappear under the last person It's ok with five as they move along ok but with 6 there is a problem.

I am quite happy to accept that it could be me

and if so how do I fix it?

Any help would be appreciated on this one, not a major problem but would be nice to solve

I am still having the issue of the Auto Assist. When I select the person I want to assist it doesn't change my target like it used to. My attack turns on but I end up attacking the implied target rather then changing targets. Is there something I need to change in one of my files to get this to work again?

fbaggy, its not just you. The original group window didn't provide a button area for full groups and I haven't gotten around to working up the code required to support it (alot more complex than it may seam).

Khitajrah, I'll double check the assist feature to make sure its working as intended. Might have been broken in the last patch.

I was hoping someone would have some insight as to what is causing my disappearing scrollbar problem i explained a couple posts back. In responce to PresumedEvil, there are two versions of the Goth theme. I am using the one for Nightfall, but even so, I think it would only cause color inconsistancies if I had the wrong one.

What kinds of things might be making my scrollbar (the part that shows you where you are and that you can drag) when the page it is scrolling is very long (ie unfiltered recipies, chat text after awhile)?
