Default No more EQ2 for me

I am officially withdrawing support for all my mods (including the updater for eq2map). I am done for good with eq2, and have been for about 3 months, i just wanted to finish the updaters final release. It was alot of fun working on the ui mods, and i hope some people enjoyed my mods, but im afraid i cant justify spending $15 a month just to make ui mods. ill still answer questions the best i can for my mods, but it will be more like once a week instead of 2 or 3 times a day, so i wont be gone completely. i wish good luck to everyone, and hope you all have a great time at eq2interface, because after all i is THE BEST eq2 ui site !!!

On a side note, for the updater, should it ever need to be modified it is open source distributed under the GPL License and can be found on sourceforge.net @ http://sourceforge.net/projects/eq2map-updater/

*sneaks into limbo, looks around* ...
*writes "We'll miss you Taco" in whipped cream on the fridge* ...
*giggles and runs off*

It is amazing to me to see a lot of people moving on. I stopped playing at the beginning of the year, but still look to see what is going on. Most people just say that they are done, but do not give a reason. You would think that it may be beneficial to Sony to do some sort of exit interview to see why people are leaving.

I find it funny that I played eq1 for years, but didn't last much more than a few months on eq2. I don't have any desire to go back either.

At any rate, you did good work Taco, I know your work will be sorely missed. Good luck to you.

EQ1 didn't have the competition early on that EQ2 does, which helped it establish a strong community. The expected growing pains of a new MMORPG have unsurprisingly driven off some of the early addopters of EQ2. Obviously the most loyal fans of the franchise are still playing EQ1, those that jumped ship to EQ2 are likewise more inclined to jump ship to a competing product or go back to EQ1 if less than thrilled with EQ2.

And of course people's real life priorities change. Dedicating enough leasure time to see real progress in EQ2 can become an iffy proposition the older you get (up untill you retire).

We'll miss ya Taco, you deffinetly made an impact here

Your a great loss to the community Taco, and I hate to see you go. Your mods have been great, and your work on the map updater has been awesome.
Take care, and have fun with your next project
