Bag/Chat solution
Zonx - you may want to talk to the board admins here and make a sticky thread (and a download section!) from the posts on how to fix the "screwed ini file" (and list of things that show that you have a bugged file).
That might help keep some of the mess out of the interface threads - after all, its not the interface, its SOE's error.
DISREGARD the above.... Read below:
I went ahead and uploaded it (giving credit to Binton) to the "Interface Parts" Download area - in the "Misc" category.
At least there, we can throw a link and so can other interfaces that are having this SOE problem pop up in their bug threads
Anyone have anything to add, go look there and post to the thread.

OOps - one other thing (seperate post, seperate topic)
The "p" bar keeps defaulting to state 2 and spilling off the side of my screen (meaningn I have to take it down, bring it back up, change mode to where I wnat it, then reposition it, every time I log ion on that toon) - is there a way to make it stay the way I last set it?
I cant make it just a straight defualt because I use different modes for different toons: I have one toon where its set up in mode 1, and another where its set up 2 (caster versus melee type = different layouts)
And again, Zonx - thanks for this mod; I would have a really hard time playing this game without it.

OK - I did the file download, rearranged my stuff, logged out. Then Log back in - and the bags are ALL much lower, and the boxes on the right are moved further down.
So I renamed my ModUI directory, logged in set the bags, logged out, logged back in and they stayed put.
Then I relogged with the CustomUI installed, and they weremessed up again.
So Zonx, there's something going on with the bags/boxes that is related to the mod. I'll report more once I find more. I may use bags from another mod to see if its specific to this mod, or its a bug that hits all mods (i.e. SOE has something on some accounts that hoses up the ini file no matter what you do).
OK...
I popped in the jaxel-skinned-bag 3/4 (6 wide), and the bags and boxes stayed put.
So its not all mods - and its not neccesarily the UI. Zonx I think you may have some very subtle bug with the height calculations for the bags and the way the system places them.
Let me know if there is any testing I can do to help.
....
Update: It seems to do this with 4-wide layout 3/4. 6-wide layout (3/4 and full) seem to work fine (from other mods). Do you have a "6-wide-fetish-bag for the FetishUI that I could test?

Version 4.0 Released
Version 4.0 is available for download.
Version notes
Note: If you're using one of the Goth Themes, you will need to download the 4.0 version of that theme in addition to the main download.
Don't forget to rate the download and add it to your favorites if you haven't already

Any chance of updating the 133% versions of player and target windows (if they need to be updated)?

Pieces will be updated.
Only the Assist button OnPress commands were changed in the 133% windows. If yah can't wait for the update, just pull the button scripts out of the standard files.

Noticed after install today that the map window will not open to scroll down between maps. No matter where I put my cursor, its a move only thing. Gonna try replacing it with previous eq2_mainhud_map.xml, see if that helps, but just an FYI. If it is possibly something I my end let me know so i can fix it if you would. Thanx Zonx for a beautiful UI. Edit* Nevermind was a bad map.xml, reloaded thru EQ2Map and works fine now.

hiropo, I don't understand the problem, please clarify. There's no scrolling anywhere in the map window except the dropdown menus, which should be working. Talyn's plugin crops the map and should show buttons for changing quadrants when you mouseover the upper left corner. If you're not seeing Talyn's buttons, chances are you're missing minimap_widgets.tga from your images directory.

nah Zonx it was a /bonk thing I replaced my map.xml after i had the install up and running by accident, pulling my hotkey and persona settings from old UI. Apparently I messed something up in it, and the drop downs wouldnt function. Re-ran EQMap and it replaced the mainhud and all is right in the world again

Zonx:
Just installed a scratch 4.0, and the bags do NOT stay put.
1280x1024 resolution, using whatever is in the zip - I completely backed up my previosu modUI, and installed this from scratch along with the eq2map. The only non-Fetish-NightFall thing I put in was Goldi's start button.
When I log out and log back in, the bags are all at the bottom of the screen, moved down by the entire bags's height.
I have full bank inventory of teak/24's boxes and toon inventory strengthened/14's bags.
laid out like this:
B=Box
b=bag
Chat and target windows in black bar
1 inch black bar
B B B B
B B B B
B B B B
a slightly wider gap
b b b b b b
1 inch black bar
Goldi's button, 3 sets of hotkeys, thin persona bar (mode 2), XP bar (half height so it has only 1 type of XP showing), casting progess bar, and inventory (when collapsed and shrunk) in bottom black bar area.
Boxes are set to have 5px spacing l-r and t-b
ALso tried it with boxes toching on all available sides on that layout, with tops almsot touching the black bar above them
Bags set same way - didn't help so I also set them as touching l-r, no effect
I put someone else's 6-wide in there, and they stay put, no matter how I lay them out (L-r toudhing up down, overlap etc).
I put the originals of Fetish in there and they all go way lower.
I even went so far as to restore my player .ini file, and that didnt work to solve the "bags move down" problem with Fetish. This has to be something about how it is calculating the height of the boxes and then forcing some sort of autolayout for the bags, which pushes them further down the page. The amount they move is about equal to the extra rows the boxes would need if they were 3 rows of 28 (or more) space boxes.
Please advise on how to proceed - let me know if there are edits I can test, or alternate versions I can DL to test. And let me know if you want before/after screenshots (be sure to show where to upload them to you if you do).
I can stay with the alternate bags for now, but I'd much rather have the stuff that works match up to the UI.
Other than that, I like all the changes, especially the compass (now matches rather nicely with the clock, bubble at each end), and the quest-helper scroller is awesome (no more need to block half my screen with the quest jounral window!)!

Resolution
I love this UI, played few hours with it yesterday. Will add some other add ons today.
But I have small problem. I play on a 24" screen with resolution of 1920x1200. The first screen and the char select screens are all of center. They are down and to the right. Is there a way to fix this? I don't know if it was something I did, when I applied other add ons, will go back to the default fetish and add one at time. But if some one knows a quick solution, pls let me know.
Thanks in advance.

Open the file called (IIRC) eq2ui_newcharscene.xml
and change the Size property to:
Size=1920x1200
And see if that doesnt help.

I did that and it crashed my game trying to connect.
I remove all the files, and started with a fresh Fetish only,
and it works, so it must be one of the 4.0 add ons
that I downloaded that is causing the screen
to shift.

Max, I remember having that same problem. I too realized that it is something with the add-ons. So, like you, I did a fresh install, and it worked. However, one thing you could do, is do all the add-ons you wish, and then just delete the eq2ui_newcharscene.xml file. That will fix that, and it doesn't affect te mod at all.

I'm going to play with the bag windows a bit to see if I can't resolve the stay-put issue. Its a known bug I've posted about several times.
Here's a link to the StayPut thread which includes a note about removing the MaximumSize and MinimumSize values from the main page. I'm gonna try this to see if it resolves the issue on my end.
NEVER use any of the following files from an add-on:
eq2ui.xml
eq2ui_inventory.xml
eq2ui_mainhud.xml
The following file may cause problems if replaced by an add-on.
eq2ui_newcharacterscene.xml

wha ... ?
Wow, that makes zero sense. Glad you fixed it, but changing the size shouldnt have crashed ... *shrug*
Hmmm.. Do you have a theme as well, or, what extras do you have?

Quest Slider
I can't stress enough how great this mod is!
I really like the new quest slider but I have a hard time using it. Is it possible to make it scroll with the mouse wheel? If so, how would I do this? Also, I can't seem to get the reset button to change the quest shown. Is this a bug or is something likely going wrong on my end?
Thanks

Unfortunately no, I don't think sliders can be made to move with the scroll wheel or arrow keys.
The quest slider reset button restores the last active quest displayed when you last moused over the slider.
If you use the slider, then mouseover the slider again, the reset function is updated to the currently displayed quest, so its not going to change anything at that point.
The intended use is... grab and move slider to check another quest quickly, then hit the reset button. Its easy to accidentally mouse over the slider. To avoid this, its best to aproach the window from the top or sides until the slider and reset button become visible.

Zoning and UI
I have looked around and found several posts about slow zoning but my problem seems to be linked to the UI? I played in default and I zoned just fine, actually rather fast. I did a fresh install of eq2map and fetish nightfall and I am back to very slow zoning, it hangs at several instances.
Any suggestions on this?
Thanks!

Speaking of sliders - is there an easy way to move the slider on the Quest Assists window from bottom to top?
Oh - one other thing: Has anyone heard if the "active spell timers" are going to come back? I loved the countdown timers being live on the screen rahter than mouse-over. As a chanter-type (Coercer) knowing when one of your many mezzes is going to drop without constantly mousing for it is a great aid to the game-play.

I had to re-do my chars .ini file, although I am unsure if this or the "clean install" did the trick.
Go look at Downloads/Individual-Pieces/Misc and find the ini file I have there for DL, and give it a try.

Any "How To" Guides for Making Mods Fetish-Compatible?
The info I'm requesting may already be available -- in fact, I hope it is -- but I'm not too keen on wading through dozens of pages of messages to try to find it.
I frequently see people asking about whether this mod or that mod can be used with the Fetish set. Is there a handy "How To" guide somewhere explaining how to make my own mods Fetish-compatible?
I'm too much of a control freak to ever download an install an entire UI set created by someone else, so I'll probably never use the Fetish set myself. (I don't use *any* mods without knowing exactly how they work and what they do and usually without tweaking them extensively, anyway.) My familiarity with the Fetish set at this point is thus limited to having looked at a few screen shots, so any information would be helpful.

Heres the Basics: Zonx compacted everything. He created two namespaces that hold just about every style that default has, in a much more logical stream. Default had its styles spread out over numerous branches. Additionally, he compacted the images files to just a few.
To make your mods fetish compatable, you will basically need the _FetishStyles.xml and the image files. You might want _FetishStyleSamlples.xml as well. You'll want to <include> those into your eq2ui.xml file as well. As long as you use the stuff under the "Fetish" namespace within the UIBuilder tree, and not the default branches, then any work you do will (should) be fetish compatible. If you edit images, try and edit the ones provided with any fetish mod.
If there is anything I missed, got wrong, etc, I'm sure Zonx will come in and clarify for you ;-)
