Default 4-column bags (66% size)

With this update, I decided to switch to the 4-column bags. I use the 66% size ones, and I noticed a minor cosmetic issue. The Tabs with the bag name (or label) are slightly wider than the bag slots themselves, so when I line the bags up next to each other, there is a gap between the bag slots, resulting in wasted space. Any chance you can fix this (or tell me what to change to fix it myself)?

Using the new version, my "self" hp/power window is blank and by hitting random keys, I found it in my map. Unless I'm doing something wrong, I can't use this version. I'm going to go back and try it again, because I like the things that were added. Is anyone else having this problem?

Love the new Fetish Nightfall!

I didn't however, like the 'hook' of the slots in the 9 slot trade window, so I made a 'straight' one.

I'll include it here for those that want it.

Default charactor select issue

when i log in to the character select screen i am unable to select my chracters. none of the buttons are there to select anything.

i also notice the the artwork is off center when loging in as well. i have to hit alt+Enter to go to windowed mode to exit out.

if i select my character from the drop down menu first before the character select screen i am able to enter the game but if i want to change toons i have to go to desktop and reload to pick my other toon to play.

is there some thing i can do short of going the default ui to get this back?

I have a problem with the map. I use EQ2map. Sometimes the map displayed is not the correct one. For example, I am in ZEQ, and the map is Runnyeye. Or, I am in EL East, but my position is completely false.

I love 3.2! I especially love the shrink map option, its perfect for me! But, I use EQ2 Map Updater and it overwrites some core_process XML files that you updated in this release, after that the shrink map isnt exactly working correctly.

Also, the in-game HTML browser crashed me to desktop after iteratting through the dropdown list a couple times. Thats ok, it would be great to have but not necessary.

Well I searched and found the line of code in the file, and copy pasted the line you stated I should replace it with. And I got results, however they weren't the results I expected . When I click on the minimize button now, the window shrinks to the left a bit rather than "vanishing" into the title bar. Someone please advise.

I crash to desktop right before I completely phase into big bend... did it 3 times, even after fresh reboot...

Default character select issue

ok found out what was causing the missing buttons on log in and the art screens not being centered.

after instaling the journal patch 3.1 everything gets messed up. take it out everythings ok.

maybe i did something wrong but if the journal 3.1 is not in the ui then everything works fine on the log in.

Is there something I can change in the eq2ui_inventory_bag file to force it to draw the window as though all 36 slots are present even though they aren't? (For testing purposes) Hopefully this is something that can be done. Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Hey ya'll... first time poster so take it easy on me.

I was having the blank person window/blank window options + a messed up persona window... didn't seem to be many having this problem, so I figured it was probably my fault.

Did 3 things so not sure which fixed it...

I deleted my custom UI folder to start from scratch and:

1) reinstalled eq2map because I forgot the first time (doubt this is it)
2) checked my eq2.ini and noticed I had the two lines reversed compared to what's in the docs, so made it match (maybe it)
3) renamed my UI folder to 'Fetish' which I hadn't done since switching to this mod (imho this was probably the fix)

So if you're having troubles, might want to try installing according to the documentation because that fixed up all my issues.

p.s. - love the mini ammo display! ya made my day.

Hehe yea it worked guess it was my bad!. but i did'nt see any eq2map install like it said so i got confused did'nt know u were supposed to download it. well i feel like a dumb ass thanks for help. I love this mod.

Yah stuff does reposition when you switch between windowed and full screen mode. Not sure why your windows aren't repositioning back to where they were, but it might be because they are locked. In any event, I don't think there's anything more I can do to control how bags are positioned/saved. If you're frequently swapping modes, you might be better off just staying in windowed mode. No real downside other than the loss of a few pixels.

To disable Press ENTER for any button, open the window's XML file in NotePad. Search for IsDefault="true" and change to IsDefault="false"

By design. The provided bag windows do have a window frame that extends a few pixels out from the slots. The titlebar should be aligned with the frame. There are several bag mods out even more bare-bones than those I've provided. Should be fairly easy to reskin any of those for Nightfall using the instructions found in my manual.

Sounds like you have a bad Map install. Since "Map" is listed above "Player" in my version of eq2ui_mainhud.xml, improperly closed tags in the Map window can result in other windows being nested inside the Map. Run EQ2MAP's auto-updater, then open my 3.2 ZIP and replace eq2_mainhud_map.xml. Probably a good idea to replace anything in the eq2map directory with eq2map directory files from my ZIP.

Ack, that's bad. I suggest you trash your Fetish directory and start from scratch. A link to the EQ2MAP auto-updater can now be found in the first post of this thread.
1) Setup the INI per my install instructions.
2) Download, install and run the EQ2MAP auto-updater. Note: you need Microsoft's .NET installed for auto-updater to install and run properly. A link to .NET can be found on the EQ2MAP auto-updater page.
3) Extract my ZIP, replacing all files when prompted.

I used the "hook" to conserve a little space. Feel free to upload your version as an add-on. Hope you spotted the credit I gave you in the manual

The symptoms you discribe suggest you either don't have my copy of eq2ui.xml installed or another mod replaced it. Nightfall uses 1280x1024 as the base resolution, most every other mod uses the default 1024x768. If you've installed another mod that includes eq2ui.xml, you should open mine and theirs in NotePad. Do a line by line compare. Anything in your file missing from my file should be copy/paseted in. Once you've updated my version to contain everything in your version, install my file.

If you haven't installed other mods, just make sure you've installed my latest version of eq2ui.xml.

Incorect pointer position could only be a problem with how EQ2MAP has defined the zone size. Report those problems to the EQ2MAP team. They'll want to know what zones specifically. Screenshots of the map with your loc included would help them.

If for some reason a map for your current zone can't be loaded, the map may display the last zone you were in. Zek should load automatically to the main window but probably doesn't load using the menus or MiniMap. The reason, EQ2MAP isn't currently sending down a copy of the Zek map to your disk. Since its not on disk, neither the menus or MiniMap can load it automatically. If even the main map isn't loading Zek, report it to EQ2MAP.

See my manual for map maintanence. The issue with main map cropping is a known problem cause by auto-updater replacing eq2ui_mainhud_map.xml with a diferent size window. You need to edit the window size as indicated in the manual any time EQ2MAP replaces that XML file, which shouldn't be often.

Ah yah sory. It occured to me after posting those instruction that it wouldn't work for windows that have a set minimumsize. You did everything right, I just neglected to include code to deal with minimumsize. I'll post an update for that when I get a chance.

So you're running fine everywhere else but crash zoning to BB. I'm guessing you're missing an EQ2MAP file for that zone. Run the auto-updater. If it replaces eq2ui_mainhud_map.xml, you'll want to edit the window size per the manual.

The version numbers do actually mean something. 3.2 is clearly marked as a "full replacement". That means you shouldn't install any files with an earlier version number, like 3.1

If you change the slot names (like remove the spaces), it should trick the client into drawing them as plain old graphics and defeat the cielnts resizing.

if i use higher res i get major headaches .. MAJOR headaches..

BTW this is the sweetest UI ive ever seen !!! i wish i knew how to even begin to modify a UI...

Persona window.

Using the default persona type 1.
When you switch to frames or none in window options the top bar of the persona window becomes backgroundless

Is there any way to have a background with the titles off, since they overlap over the stats?

Plus many many thanks for an awesome mod....you have no idea how many people i have pointed to this mod and they all love it

Although this UI was designed with larger screens in mind, it should work fine at smaller rez. Nothing should need "converting".

Not sure what you mean. There are no visible titlebars in Personabar. Nothing should overlap the stats when Title and frame are enabled. If you are seeing overlap, please post a screenshot.

Default About the HTML Window...

The HTML window is an unsuported feature from EQ2 Beta. Officially its been dropped/hidden from the supported UI. In other words... use at your own risk.

There's absolutely nothing about using the window that even remotely violates the EULA. The only risk is that it may crash your client.

Since support for the window was dropped early on, its capabilities are rudimentary at best.

Its capabilities from what I've seen so far:

- It will handle basic HTML text formating, headings, bold, italics, paragraphs, and the like

- It can display basic image types, GIF, JPG.

- It does understand image alignment, so you can wrap text around an image or possition an image next to text.

- It does handle tables.

What it won't do

- It won't handle links.

- It doesn't understand most Style formatting.

- It won't display directories off a hard-drive. It becomes buggy if you give it a path to a directory rather than pointing it to a file.

- It doesn't handle anything that would require a plugin (Flash, Shockwave)

- Scripting of any kind appears to be non-functional (JavaScript, ActiveX, etc.)

- It does display some form elements but they're prety much non-functional.

So what's it good for?

Well it can be used as an effective in-game notes tool. The trick is in providing bookmarks to the info since links don't appear to work.

Guilds can use this as a way to keep members up-to-date with the latest raid strat or any other info they choose, just publish a bookmark set to the pages.

Individuals can write their own pages of EQ2 info and publish bookmark files that point directly to those pages. Even if you're not up to being an EQ2 info mogal, you can still write your own HTML pages, saved on your local drive, and create bookmarks pointing directly to those pages. Unless you tell the browser to look on the web (http://) or another drive (D:/), the browser assumes the path you give it is relative to the top of your C-drive.

I personally hope to populate the "Zonx Home" bookmark (provided in the default install) with a series of pages full of usefull facts. Wouldn't it be nice to have quest info, HO chains, Tradeskill tips, etc. all at your fingertips without needing to Alt+Tab out of game?

It may not be the prettiest info-source, but its convenient

I will be requesting links be enabled for the browser. If that becomes functional, this window should become extreamly usefull

1st) Love the UI thanks for the fast update because it was painful using the default UI :-)

2nd) I think the percent for the guild exp bar is off in the single digit portion, ie when guild exp was about 88% it displayed 80.3 and when it is at 96% it displays 90.7, these numbers are all eye-ball counting of the tick marks in the default UI. Of course I have no way of knowing the tenth's portion.

Keep up the awesome work, thank you for this mod!!

Towards the bottom of the file you'll see Name="WC_CloseButton", Name="WC_HelpButton" and Name="WC_OptionsButton".

Each has a Location="somebignumber,1" just in front of it.

For each, change 1 to -100 (that's neg 100)

This should move the buttons well out of the viewable window area.

This is not something that zonx could fix. The percentage value is pushed from the servers, the text displays should read accurately. However the progressbar COULD be misaligned or something, giving a faulty reading.

Default Camera recentre

Hiya

After I updated to 3.2 the "5" key no longer resests the camera as before. I should add it works in first person but not in third.

Also on the default UI player crafted food has additional stats info which is not visible when using Nightfall

BTW - This is the best mod out there and I am slowly convincing the whole of my guild to use it, Keep up the good work

Due primarily to recent changes in EQ2MAP, I've decided to issue a 3.3 version that will also correct several of these misc issues. I'll be posting it in the next couple hours.
