Infocenter Problems
Hey guys,
I have installed the infocenter add on and the macro seems to work in that there are no error messages, but the infocenter window does not appear at all. I have tried downloading and reinstalling and even having firends who use it without problem sending me thier entire custom folder and yet it still does not work. It's probably something simple but I have no expirience at all messing with UI's. If anyone has any idea please let me know, thanks in advance for your help.

Sounds like one of two things (or a combonation of both). Either you don't have the infocenter's files in the appropriate place, or you don't have your eq2.ini file modified as needed.
Are you using a custom UI, or is the infocenter the only mod you are using? If you are, the contents of the Infocenter's download/.zip file should be extracted into the custom UI folder you have (which should put two .xml files into the custom UI's folder in addition to a 'infocenter' subfolder within that same UI folder). This should resolve the issue.
If you're not using a custom UI, you should create a custom UI folder in your base Everquest2/UI directory and extract the contents of the Infocenter's download/.zip file to that folder. Then you will need to modify your eq2.ini file (found in the base Everquest2 directory). Instructions on how to do so can be found here.

I have the same problem and i have modifie my eq2.ini file, but i do have 2 mods, the eq2 map self installed directly in the UI folder and automaticly created the eq2.ini file i am using, eq2map is working but not infocenter, here is what my eq2.ini looks like right now
cl_ui_skinname customUI
cl_ui_skinname EQ2MAP
cl_ui_subdir UI/
in my UI folder i have
-EQ2MAP
-customUI wich contains infocenter folder and the 2 xml files
-Default
-Font
and using the command either in macro or direct command line wont load the window

read the installation instructions.
ok, I'll do it for you: put the infocenter in your eq2map folder.

works for me now not sure about the person who open the thread(don't want to 'highjack' it)
I did read the installation and it said to create a customUI folder, the eq2map folder is not one I have created, it was created automaticly by eq2map when it installed, who would expect that a folder created by eq2map would become my main customUI folder, of course now i know for all other eq2 mods, but in all other mmos I have played, each interface mods goes in their own folder and are under the UI folder of the game, not one created by another custom UI develloper independent from the other devellopers of mods.
It probably took countless days and weeks to devellop this mod, but what i can tell you is I didnt end up here after the first try, I spent alot of times trying to debug this, probably 3 hours of frustration, takes me 5 seconds to load ogaming, I could have loaded ogaming 2160 times and it would not total 3 hours, I still have 2159 searches to go until I can say it's worth it.
That being said, thanks for the mod and the help.

You took "unzip into your custom UI folder" a bit too literally. Reminds me of when someone complained for my mod that he had no "EQ2" folder, only an "Everquest 2" folder.

I love it when people follow instructions too literally. It's always fun to chuckle at... because we all do it at some point or other =)
