List of associated files

Being new to UI Mod’ing I find I spend a great portion of my time learning the file association so I know which files need to be altered.

Would one of you experts be so kind as to post a list of files which are associated for specific tasks? For example if I was to modify the Inventory window which files would house not only the images but all the xml to complete the mod?
