game acts as if I'm holding ctrl the whole time

For example if i type the letter "v" it will paste what is on the clip board. When i backspace to get rid of a character, it erases the whole word. I even had it where if i clicked on a link to view it (to an item) it would just link it again instead of showing what the item is. I use profit UI, ive heard other people with this problem I dont know if it's profit or not?

It is not ProfitUI (moving the thread because of that).

Also I've never had this problem, might be a broken keyboard, a broken keyboard driver, or maybe it's related to the new voicechat feature which by default assigns the Ctrl key as you push to talk key. Maybe someone else has some insight.

I've been noticing this lately with everything from ctrl to alt to shift. But it only seems to be doing it in the context of game actions (i.e. stuck shift will make clicking spell icons toss a link, but not make you type in all caps).

I'm wondering if those late patch notes mention about the alt key getting stuck has to do with ctrl and shift as well. It only mentions alt in the context of alt-tabbing, but if alt is getting stuck I see no reason why shift and ctrl couldn't be...

Yes now that you mention it, if holding shift links the word of a ca, then I had the shift problem as well. And I forgot to mention that it's only IN GAME that this happens. i can type 'v' outside of eq2 and not paste everything on the clipboard, etc etc. I posted on the technical support forums too. If gm9 says it's not a profit problem it must be a game problem ><.

I had a friend that had this issue. when she remapped her PTT key it resolved it.

this should be /bugged in game

no, unmapping the voice chat key doesn't work.
