Ok since this will have to be all done MANUALLY for each of the 6500+ EQ2 quests, then I have a suggestion:
Make a secondary pulldown menu just for QUESTS. We can pulldown the quest name (as it appears in quest journal) and
if data exists: All markers will be shown, along with NUMERIC icons that show us the STEPS that need to be taken in correct order for completion.
If data does NOT exist: Inform user with PoPup message: THERE IS NO DATA AVAILABLE FOR THIS QUEST. PLEASE HELP THE EQ2MAPS PROJECT BY SENDING IN YOUR QUEST DATA.
A clicky button [INSTRUCTIONS] can then forward user to instructions (similar to mapping instructions) to appropriate page that tells them to plug in QUEST DATA MARKERS using EQ2i Wiki and ZAM waypoints on the map.
These "markers" are not visible on main maps and are specifically QUEST_FLAGGED and are only visible via the QUESTS PULLDOWN MENU as/when needed.
Once user has plugged in all waypoints and icons and descriptions - they can click [SUBMIT QUEST INFO] to this site. Once this data is verified, this can then become part of the EQ2MAPs auto-updater.
Some info on the numeric icons:

I know this is a daunting task... but this has to be done. The maps are becoming a hap-hazard mess of clutter over the years. And its time to streamline this for user-friendliness and quick accessibility.
I know it took years to collect this data - and we still have many years and many many users (with the revival of EQ2x) to help clean up and make this project even better.
Many thanks.
