Default Freezing on right-click and drag-and-drop in inventory

Hello. I've only been playing EQ2 a little less than a week now, and the first thing my friend told me to do was download ProfitUI because of how great it is. I'm enjoying it thoroughly so far. However, there is one minor flaw that I've encountered.

Every now and again whenever I try to click and drag something from my inventory or bank screen (or even on my hotbar) and drop it somewhere else, the game will hang for anywhere from a solid 30 seconds to a minute and a half. This happened to me yesterday in a CBK run and I ended up dieing because a mob popped on me and I didn't move before it ate me alive, since I was dragging a picked-up collection item to my journal collection window between fights. It hung for about 45 seconds, and suddenly I was dead. You can understand my frustration when this happens. This also seems to happen every now and then when I right-click something, it hangs for a few seconds then finally opens the right-click menu. This happens quite frequently. I know it's not my computer. My computer runs EQ2 fine on High settings (bogs down a bit in cities but whose doesn't?), and I know for a fact the default UI doesn't have this problem.

Am I missing something? Is somebody else having this problem?

Thank you in advance.

Thats probably because you computer is caching to your hard drive to show the popup menu or drag graphics because you are running low on resource memrory. Sometimes de-fraging your hard drive will help lower the cache read/write times but lowering you graphics may help more. Then there is always adding more memory options.

I've got a nice speedy Maxter hard drive, and run at a steady 30-60fps on high settings, until I drag something. I defrag my hard-drive every weekend and am currently sitting on 1 gig of RAM (not as much as I had at one time, but my motherboard blew a DIMM and I'm only running on a single stick at the moment), which stays at about 150-200MB free at any given time running EQ2. Turning down the Graphics to Very High Performance settings does nothing, and this problem doesn't occur with the default UI -- EVER, even on Maximum settings (through lag - but with no "freezing" as I'm seeing with ProfitUI). Maybe there's something I'm missing.

Haven't seen this before. Lack of RAM may be a cause - with 1 GB of RAM only you can't run on High settings. The reason you will always see free RAM is because Windows is writing the rest to disk into the paging file.

I would be surprised if Default UI really behaves differently for you, since the mechanics of dragging and dropping are handled by the game, not the XML files that make up the UI.

Maybe they can help you in the official SOE tech support forums, they may already have seen this.

If it does not work, you likely installed it incorrectly. Always try a clean install before reporting bugs.

I'll check there and see if there's anything I can find out about it. It's actually really never happened to me with the default UI, I even switched back for a day (it was horrid I tell you!). Maybe I'll take it down to medium settings until I can get my motherboard fixed so I can stick my other 1GB stick in there, and see if that fixes it first.

Thanks for the suggestions!
