Default Can't Tell Where I've Been

There must be some setting somewhere....

Remember how the places you hadn't explored yet were all blacked out? Well, I need that back, so I can get those lovely AAs but it isn't there. All my maps are clear on all chars. Is this the way it's supposed to be? Please tell me I've missed a setting somewhere to get it back!

I did install the plugin for Map Fog mentioned in one post but it didn't offer the "hide fog" button as it was supposed to do, nor did it black out anything.

I've checked in the options section as well but nothing there about blacking out unexplored areas either.

I hope you can help me, because this is going to be a major problem for me.

Thanks in advance.

Maps with fog should have fog, with a select few exceptions where we dropped the fog (like tutorial isle). Some maps do not have fog though, in particular city zones, and most dungeons.

If it does not work, you likely installed it incorrectly. Always try a clean install before reporting bugs.

Also Suziekew, that plugin was for the old map system, which is probably why it doesn't work any longer. Hopefully the creators of the plugins for the map system will have new versions when they get a chance.

The black fog is no longer black, its the same map but with a tinted overlay.

I agree that the map fog needs to be very distinguishable. Gotta be able to see where you've been with all your characters, especially with all your alts.

Well, not in Runnyeye, the map was clear to me and I've never been there before.

In dungeon's it is still black if the dungeon has map fog at all. Not all dungeons have map fog (most don't), since that is something that SOE has to support.
