When I Play This Stupid Thing Happenns, HELPS!!!!!!
Ok, when i get on eq2, i log in, i play, i get a group, what not. But After a While, The Game Will go away, and this message will say "Out of Memory" (then it will have a whole bunch of #s) but idk how to fix that, or wy it does that, i have eq1 on my comp 2, and eq1 works perfectly fine, it sometimes restarts the comp sometimes but rarely ever.
but i just do not no why my comp does that when i play eq2, any body have any suggestion???????
It's done it ever since i loaded it on, and no matter what accunt i play on, it does it, all though it doesnt do that on any other computers that my aunt has or cuz has, so idk.

At a guess, I'd have to assume your "out of memory" errors indicate that you don't have enough memory. *Shrug*
The fact that EQ1 runs just fine is completely irrelevant. EQ2 is *much* more demanding of system resources and memory than EQ1, and especially so in the newer zones.
I have the game installed on two computers. Neither is anywhere near high-end, but both would run the game reasonably well. Until recently. Unfortunately, one of the memory slots on one of the motherboards fried, reducing the RAM on that machine from 1 gig to 512 meg. I can still play on that machine, but only with graphics turned down to minimum. And even then, I don't dare take either of my characters home to Neriak, because the machine *will* crash with an "out of memory" error almost as soon as I enter the zone.
You didn't provide any specifics regarding the system you're running the game on, but if you're getting "out of memory" errors, you obviously don't have enough RAM installed.

one guess is your running setting too high. Thus using the higher res textures witch are bigger in size and takeing up more memory. Thus you run out of memory. XP is good for taking up 200 mb of memory. EQ2 will swallow what it can. So you need more memory to resolve this. 1 gig is hardly enough these days. Try lowering your overall settings. Or getting some more ram. 2gigs is good 4 is better.

I agree, your best bet is to upgrade to 2GB of memory.
If that's not an option, you'll have to turn down your texture resolution (which will make the game look uglier). If you're at medium, it'll have to go to low. It's gonna look kinda ugly, but that's your only choice besides getting more RAM. EQ2 uses much more resources than EQ1 does.

Aye,
Out of memory means out of memory.
I would recommend 2gb for XP and 3gb for Vista. That will stop this error from happening.
Lowering the settings will help for a little while, but the game will eventually crash.
The other tempory fix is to quit the game after you have zoned a couple of times and load it up again. Will stop you crashing whilst fighting.

thanx guys, i'll work on getting 2GB of memory, and i'll lower my settings to the lowest setting there is and se what happens, but i also used to go to propeties on my comp, and put the resolution to the lowest settings, and that helped it a bit.
and Narzoo, some times, i log in, and im in Ant, and i stay there to kill, (like the most recent time i played) and it still crashed so it doesnt matter if i'v zone or not, it will always to t me no matter what im doing in the game. but it does let me play longer if im just standing selling a filled up invetory. like if i wasnt moving or casting or clicking any buttons, it will take longer to crash on me. but like i said, even if i dont zone, it wil still do it.
once agian thanx for the help every one,
im still open for more help
hehe, i just had to put all the smileys
now watch this
srry i just had 2 lol
