Default map updater causing a crash

will the auto updater cause the game to crash if i had the manual part of the map installed in the past ? i installed the auto updater today and every so often the game will crash. the color of the screen in the game gets a grey tint then it crashs. i noticed this starting after i installed the auto updater.

hopefully someone can help me with this issue

Did you uninstall/delete the files for the manual version before installing the auto-updater? If not, that could be the source of the problem.

Safest bet would be to uninstall the EQ2Maps auto-updater then manually delete any remaining map-related files (take a look at the contents of this download to get an idea of what to look for). After that's all done, re-install the auto-updater and go from there.
