Jaxel's Skinned OCD Interface Pieces (new piece 4/29)
As some of you know, I suffer from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. What that means, is that I am overly obsessive about things looking correctly, as well as perfect width between multiple sides and such like that. So generally, instead of downloading other people's mobs, I look at what they have done, and decide to do them in my own way. I usually just made them myself and never publish them, but a posted a few in the past and people have been messaging me about them. So here are my mods. I am working on skinning the entire interface to the way I do my frames; but I do use my own modified version of MyUI's XP, Target, ImpliedTarget, GroupMembers and Player windows. I really appreciate the research work Deathbane, Zonx and others have done for these mods.
Compass and Clock
- This is the best compass/clock mod you have ever seen!
Start Button
- My take on Goldi's Start Button with collapsable sound/video settings.
I have skinned lots of other screens, as well as my chat window. But I am holding off in posting any new ones until I completely skin my entire interface.
Looks good
are you related to 'adrian monk' (the detective on tv) ? <grin>
Didn't you also do the mod with all the leaves around it ... in eq1 ? i think it was nightelf ...
Nice UI's and very slim is good part with keeping original size.
Best of all encapuslated so easy with update.
For inventory window, I would like to see mitigation number AND percentage.
Heck, what number means? Hell, I don't know but I feel much more comfortable with it and much easier to tack how much i get boost by equipements.
So it will be like :
Mitigation : xxxx ( yy %)
Seems like reistance would have %s as well. I would like to see those 2 number implementation on your UI.
Great job on the Ho indicator, this is one of the more useful mods I have had the pleasure of downloading.
Here is a slight variant which I found easy to see in battle and on even a high resolution. I noticed the clock runs backwards from what I would traditionaly see, so I modified it a bit. Hopefully this does not offend the original author of this work.
Just unzip and replace the timerclock.dds in your /images folder.
The screenshot isnt superb, but the color of the clock fill matches and changes along with the original clock colored border.
I use DXT3, but I added an alpha layer to the image, not sure what program you are using to make the ddsor whatever, but in Photoshop I just added a nice alpha that encompassed all the black area around the clocks to 'smooth' out the look of the transparency.
Glad the idea I came up with inspired you to make the fine finesse touches.
BTW great job on all the parts, I look forward to mor pieces as time goes along.
Is there perhaps a 2/3 bag mod coming anytime soon as i like the layout but becasue bags are so large now and boxes, it makes it a wee bit overcrowded on a 1024x768 screen.
I have used your excellent journal mod and when Live Update 7 came, I came here and got your updated mod for the patch.
However, upon entering the game world, the journal did not look changed abit. It still looks like the one from before the patch and there was no option to sort any other way except the default.
What I did was just to replace the eq2ui_journals_quest.xml file in the custom UI directory with your updated one dated 20 April 2005 at 11.14pm. Is that not the correct way to do this?
Yes EQ2 was not even loaded at the time. I replaced this file with the new one, and then ran the launcher to enter EQ2.
I think this may be a problem with your merchant window. Not sure how it all ties in. However I cannot use my store. It will not allow me to browse the market. My bags show up empty. Vault items do not show etc. I had to reload the defaultui to be able to use these features.
Hi, I realy like this BUT! I have a little problem the Compass circle is just a white circle no compass
You probably downloaded the PATCH before downloading the original version. You MUST download the original version of the compass before you download the patch. The original version includes a custom elements DDS file that the patch does not.
