Tradeskill icon question

Does anyone know what the little number in the corner of the icon for the item you're making in the tradeskill window is for? I can't seem to figure out what that number could possibly indicate, as it sometimes changes between combines of the same item. On some items, the number is 13, on others it's 2. There may have been other numbers there, but those are the only ones I can remember atm. Screenshot attached in case I didn't describe accurately what I'm talking about.

I think it's a bug. On resins/washes I think it shows 4, as in you can get 4 items out of that combine, but the things like bars show 2, but you only get 1.
