I can't hide text in the buffing window ?

Even if I right click and select "hide text" it doesn't work.

Use on of the maintained window variants. The default does not support the hide text option. Or simply resize the window so that only the icons show.

What is the "maintained" window options ? As for the window size it would work if I'd use the window on the vertical side but I like it on the top of my screen so I need an horizontal window or like I prefer, a square one.

The window you reffered to as the 'buffing' window is actually called the maintained window. When you launch the autoupdater click on the setttings menu at the top left. Choose the option Variants. Then scroll the dropdown to maintained window. You will see several options. I beleive left aligned slim will do what you want.
