Default Bad install of autoupdater

Hello I use 64 bit Vista. I tried to install the java version that came out on 7/5/08 and somehow it went badly. I tried to unistall it and Vista said it was allready installed, and when I try to run the java again it says this

Exception thrown while opening database connection

Any help on where to go with this would be greatly appreciated.

If you still can see the updater's main window, go to 'Settings' and use the option 'Reset all settings' to get the database back in place.

tried the reset all setting to no avail. Might have to try something more drastic?

Reset the settings again please. The updater might have tried to restore the database from faulty backups.
