Volume settings keep resetting

I had posted in the bug thread, about the new volume settings on the start button bar. You had indicated how we can modify those by fixing the correct xml file, and I did just that.

The problem is, the volume settings aren't sticking with my toons/overall. I log in each toon, and the default volume for music and combat music continues to be 0.4, and my master volume is at 1.0. I used notepad to fix the values for combat music and general music to 0, and set the master volume to 20.

How can I remove the new functionality from the start button, without having to do away with the rest of it? The button from 7.5 worked great.
