Default Chat window

There has been some discussion recently about the performance hit caused by text outlines in the chat window. Some of the UI knowledgeable folks disabled the text outline and saw up to 20 fps bump. Is anyone here working on a mod for those of us that don't know how to accomplish this? Barring that, is there an easy way for us to do it ourselves?

Yes, I posted a default chat window with an extra button that disables and enables the chat text outline.

In general, every extra piece of UI showing will require more processing power by your graphics card so if you want faster frame rates you'll want to trim it down where ever you can. Text is just another UI element. Each character displayed requires two triangle and an outline is created by drawing 5 additional characters in black behind each character. That can add up if you're displaying a lot of text.
