Default Map Sizes...for the non-bionic-men players

I dont know about the rest of you but while the maps are an enormous help they're so small that some of the outside zones (heck, all of them not SOME!) are nothing more than pincushin graphics with multi-colored dots covering entire regions making it impossible to click a single specific one or even to roll over it.

Yes, I know you can filter the dots...what a huge PITA that is trying to figure out which one to click on or off....is that NPC you're looking for an NPC or a mob? Is he a POI or a Quest update? Usually you have to click them all off then cycle thru the filters one at a time - it gets to where I dont even bother at times.

Anyway - solution? Make the maps larger. Twice their current size? 50% larger? 20% would help? Just a thought - my suggestion is to allow the window to be scalable or it's size adjusted.

Default Suggestion: Put Map on the map, or actual map name title

Any chance you could put the actual map name on the map or in the title?

Like instead of all the levels in Stormhold just saying "Stormhold", they could say, which level they were also? "Stormhold Level 2" or something nice like that.

thanks

Default Different Color Icon for Shinies and Tomes

I would love to see a different colored icon to denote the collection type items on the map, specifically the tome pages and the shinies. This way you could scan the map for that particular item as opposed to looking through every single blue icon.

Default I would love an alpha list of poi's

It would be great to have an option on each map -to show an alpha list of all poi's - that you could then click on to highlight the one on the map.

Thanks

Hello,

I think you can use "POI finder" for that. It's a kind of add-on you install after EQ2map.

Cheers,
Keed

Default Auto Updater

How about an auto exit in Eq2map when it finishes updating like POI Finder?

Appologies beforehand if this has been suggested before...

Would it be possible to add a small button next to the coordinate field that pasted what was in your clipboard and hit enter for the waypoint. Either that or could someone tell me an easier way than to move the cursor after the current loc and backspace to the beginning to paste the loc. Something thats bugged me forever but would save quite a bit of frustration over time(FoT) lol

another cool thing would be to be able to to be able to click on coordinates in group chat and have it mark the waypoint, I understand if that would be far to complicated for the efforts though.

Default Customer Guild Hall POI's

Is there any way to have a custom POI file for your guild hall that could be downloaded from the guild website. I would like to put the location of all of our ammenities so new guildies do not need to spend lots of time looking for things.

Is that even possible if so tell me how and I would be glad to put it together, if I can.

Currently that's a bit complicated, but we are working on a version where it will be very easy, so start making a list of those POIs.

If it does not work, you likely installed it incorrectly. Always try a clean install before reporting bugs.

I noticed that the new mini map has no place to enter in a loc and set it as a waypoint like the old ones, and we now have to enter locs in the big map.

Is it possible to have the minimap include the block at the bottom to enter a waypoint loc like the old maps did pre TOS?

Default Filtering POIs

Possibly I'm blind but I can't find the option to filter out POIs so that I'm only seeing the subset that I'm interested in. This was a key feature for me and I can't believe it's been removed.

I found the toggle visibility option to turn them all off (nice and quick, thanks) but is there still an option to say "only show me Quest NPCs" or the like?

Thanks

I believe the way SOE set up the POI system, we can't do that any more else we would of put that back in.

Yes, and we agree that it was a key feature. SOE knows what we need to make it work again, let's hope they implement it.

I doubt it; adding more to the mini map would defeat the purpose of the mini-map. Use the big map or /waypoint command. The destination will show up on the mini-map. But as all suggestion we'll talk about it.

True, and each player likes the things they like. Maybe as a collapsible option, this way if someone dosen't want to see it they don't have to.

Thanks for at least considering putting it back in.

I share Landiin's opinion, I don't think we'll put that in. But EQ2MAP was and still is extensible via plugins, so maybe someone makes such a plugin.

Default cant se way points

Hi, im finding in certain zones (in everfrost at the moment) that when you set a way point there not visable, they just disapear into teh map, maybe consider changing the marker from white to red or somthing that would be visable on all the maps. thanks.

Talking Filter to show only active quest markers on the map

I think it'd be cool if there was a way to only view the quest markers on the map for the currently active quests so that it's easier to see where things are that you need to get / kill / etc.

Not something that UI modders can currently do. However, Rothgar (SOE UI Developer) has mentioned that he would like exactly the same thing, so it may be coming Soon <tm>.

Default bg suggestion

first off, love maps.

One thing I'm wanting though, since I've gotten interested in bg's is raid numbers to numbers on the map, so the rest of the raid shows as 1-24 or something. I dunno if it's possible, or if it would step into raid window ui changing, or what, but I think it would quite useful.

It's kinda late, and I didn't take the time to read alll the other suggestions, so I apologize if it's already been suggested and handled.

keep up the great time saving work =)

You'll have to ask SOE for that: to my knowledge the BG player icons on the map are still hard-coded.

Red face

is it possible to separate the vasty deep labs map to the raid zone? right now the raid zone use same map and POI as the groupzone version.

Vasty Deep: The Abandoned Labs (group instance)
Perah'Celsis Abominable Laboratory (raid version)
