Since there was really no decision on a name, I chose what I thought was the best one to put on the website, EQ2MAP or MAP for short, for EverQuest 2 Modular Atlas Project. If you guys want something else, tell me to change it.
heres the map window with a realtime /loc displayed in the titlebar right next to the loc finder
I'm not gonna support the loc value in the map window. It crowds the path finder where you placed it, and it's just so unneeded and imperfect when compared to the rapidly updating compass tooltip.
Your new tradeskill map's been committed to my main folder and the icons and zonerect have been noted.
Sounds good to me. It's not particularly modular at the moment, aside from your quest sub window. But the name and respective abbreviation are clever nonetheless.
How many people will actually know what modular means though? it sounds really good when you say it...go ahead say it real quick, it just rolls off the tongue huh? I likes
if any of you devs get bored you can head over to maps.eq2i and input a few zone names or Icontypes for the final database, it should be fully functional and available with 2 days, if not the end of today.
I do have a question though. The POIs that have been entered to the DB but pending insertion into the map, should I let me, tony, sunthas, etc, check them off as they post them up to quib, or just have quib when he has them in the actual compilation? The first would prevent people doing duplicates, but may also result in some checked off but dont actually get integrated. Hmmmm
one of the best ideas I've ever heard. Thats how it will be, that just sparked something else for me. They click a button to confirm they did the code. they input the code and store it, you come by, see if it has been checked by someone else, but not confirmed by you. You take the code and plug it in. Sounds good to me, you?
Guys, the confimation code for submitted POI's is up.
QUIB
I need you to do me a favor and go there, submit a full POI, then go to browse and view it, you SHOULD see somewhere to enter code and submit it, after that, you should see a different message that it was awaiting confirmation and ONLY YOU should have a button to confirm it. Click that and check the message again, should say its been confirmed. I just wanna make sure everything is working fine. 1 more thing left to do and it will be open to the public to post.
Let me know if anything doesnt work like I said it should.
Going to try it out now, will edit this post once I've run through it.

Edit: I've encountered a problem. Anywhere that it says it's supposed to be displaying the code to add to the map xml, instead I see a "You are logged in as Quib" page that lists eq2interface's most recently updated downloads. Attaching a screenshot.
I don't see anywhere to confirm that I've gotten the code, though I suspect it's getting interference from this menu thingy.
Ah! I think the problem is the "code is as follows" is xml so it's similar to html and is being parsed as if it were html, so instead of seeing the code, it's being parsed into the webpage and is screwing stuff up. I did "View Source" on the page I took a screenshot of and the code to use is in the viewed source, but appears to be read as if it were part of the html.
Sorry that I repeated myself like 3 times there, just hope this helps!
Now forced the code to not parse at html.
Quib try it again, also I had to change the database type for code, it truncated you code you inserted also. Now head back over there, post the code again, LOOONG code if you'd like to see how long it can be, then try it agian.
eloa,
on the download page the mod is called quibmap. Is that what we are calling it or did you forget to change it to EQ2MAP? I like eq2map better than quibmap cuz then people wont think quib made it alone hehe.
great site tho mate! its like a homepage for one mod...too freakin cool hehe.
Ok guys, site is up and fully functional now. Quib when you post the next update you could stick a link in the description for people that want to help out and tell them to submit POI's for us.
If you guys could just run through the zones list and see if all of them are correct that'd be great, just submit a new zone prefixed with a * and I'll know that I need to delete the old one. I've probably missed a lot of the higher level zones or dont have internal names for them at least if thats the case just prefix with * and submit. I'd like to get all possible zones in there so that we can have some POI's before we even make the maps so when we do make them, they're almost done.
I threw a bunch of POI's in just to get people started off, but they are real.
Since thats finally done for a few days I guess I can log into the game for the first time in like a month.
Want to help out with the mod?
Gather some more POI's for us! (the little dots that show where stuff is)
Just head over to http://maps.eq2interface.com (Home of the EQ2MAP) and submit them to us to see them in the next version. The more you guys submit, the quicker the versions will come.
