Oh that harvest window.. lol thought u was talking about the old harvest info window.( which should be makeing a return  ). attached is this window, I guess I turned on the not moveable flag:/ You should be able to move it now. (eek sorry)

This awsome job.. and fast .. thought you on 2 days off??
Is there a place that tells me what I can change in the eq_resent.ini files that acutually changes..
Going from a higher setting to a lower setting works flawlessly. However going from lower to higher isn't so great.
What didn't change was this from Preset 2 (lower settings) to Preset 1 (higher settings):
Performance .. the 4 sliders didn't go back to their higher values (slider options)
Texture Res .. the Char LOD didn't change from med to high (drop menu option)
Lighting .. Spec lighting didn't re-enable from low to high (check box option)
Animation .. Cloth Sim didn't re-enable from low to high (check box option)
So ... I'm assuming that the UI Code has nothing to do with this ?? Or does it? (I'm thinking its a sony issue) but I want to make sure first.
Any ideas?

what I did was make all the changes I need, pressed the accept button. Then I wnidowed out and copied and pasted the eq2_resent.ini file. I then renamed the copy of eq2_resent.ini to eXtremePreset_1.ini. then went back and did that for the other two. there is a command /save_options <file> you may beable to do that ni game without haveing to window out and doing the copy and paste thing.
Yes you are correct the ui coding had nothing to do with the settings, it only issues the load_options command.

Thats exactly what I did .. did my changes .. windowed out and copied the files .. full screened back .. did my other changes and then windowed out for the lower options .. full screened back and played with the 2 .. and noticed that my graphics were's as sharp as before
So I opened the options window and watched the sliders and other options as I changed the 2 presets .. and thats what I noticed .. its wierd .. I had a similar problem with one of laff's UI's that had preset options now that I remember about it ..
Guess I need to dig around other forums here and there and dig into this .. but thats something for tommorow
Love the changes so far though

Ok when setting your presets you can't just pick ballanced , high quality or hiph proformance because that dosn't really change settings, it changed one r_proformance witch tells the game to make the settings to one of the 6 presets that the game offers. You have to go and changed the settings, thats witch will for a r_proformance 7 (custom) and the settings that you change will be saved in the eq2_resents.
I'll play with it a bit more when I get home tonight and post a real procedure for it.

using 1280x1024, same as before. I just tried the new update and did the same thing, not talking just a few windows out of place but pretty much all. Will try different rez and see right now.

I'll look at that res ui settings as I never go below 1400 I never see these settings( just when I made them). You still should be able to just slide the windows into place.

Screen Resolution Issues
I have the same problem with 1280 x 1024. My LCD monitor will not support anything with greater resolution. Almost all of the windows are out of place, to the point that I just used an older character ini file. However, with the older ini file I run in to all sorts of problems, such as the inability to see page 2, 3, or 4 of guild bank, and some other issues that I found annoying at the time but failed to document. Anything that you can do to help out with this would be awesome! I love this UI, and would never switch to anything else.
Also, I think someone mentioned that they wanted to use the "old" journal system. I found a download that is the old system. It was Valdacil's Journal, and I downloaded it from http://www.eq2interface.com/download...fo.php?id=4089. Just need to install it into the eXtreme directory under UIs.

Once you have a ui setting for extreme you don't have to use a new one with each install/upgrade you can dot use your own in the installer and there will be no issues, unless stated other wise.
Swapping to page 2,3 and 4 in the guild bank was an issue with 2.16.2, if you upgraded to 2.16.3 this issue is gone.
On the download page if you click on mark as favorite eq2interface will notify you any time there is an upgrade so you will not be using a dated UI.

Well I'm amazed sony can even get things down with the shoddy way they code things.
I took the 2 extreme preset files and opened them side by side to compare settings .. what a mess ... first few lines of the files line up .. after that 1 is missing stuff 2 has and 2 has stuff in another place then what 1 has .. took me about 2 hours to actually move things around and to add values to make things work.
Now the 2 performance bars don't want to change when set to 0.10000 but if set to 0.999000 works no problem
The Texture Res drop down .. was missing in preset 1.. added it and change the value .. fixed
Again with the lighting .. those settings were missing from preset 1 .. but was on preset 2 .. fixed that up
The Animation check box .. again was missing from preset1 .. added the value .. fixed
All I did was take the eq_recent and renamed it. Why the same file after changes will have missing items and rearranged items is beyond me. Why on the lower settings cloth texture set to false shows up but on the other preset there's no matching cloth set to true value??
Now I'm glad I got it working .. hope this can help other people with this. Only thing that isn't working is my gamma values. The sliders changes value but the gamma doesn't actually kick in ... same with starting the game .. The gamma didn't change it just doesn't kick in the high value I use. But soon as I manually change that slider up or down .. boom the gamma kicks in.
So if others of you are having problems best thing to do is open your presets with notepad .. resize them to the same size windows and compare line by line .. change the order and add the missing values as needed. Seems everytime to hit apply the eq_recent.ini changes every time in more ways then it should.

Basically all the installer does when you pick a ui setting is rename your old one. When it reanmes it, it just prefixs it with back_. Just a little FYI there also

Char Creation Screen problem
I've been having an issue where if the name I choose for new toons is taken I get the pop-up saying so, but I have not acknowledgement button in the pop-up, and so no way to close it. This causes me to not be able to go back to change the name as there is no way to shift the focus back to the char creation window. I end up having to shut down EQ and restart to try another name.
Wouldn't be too bad, but since the Name window is after all the appearance settings, I end up having to go back and go theough that every time and then hope the name I choose isn't already taken.

That isn't included in the ui, either its a default issue are you are using dated ui code. Sorry can't help you.

1280x1024
Is this the only rez we are having problems with? Is this rez working for others? I went to 1600x1200 and some of the windows were still out of place, just not as bad. I wonder why some of us have problems and some ( most) don't? Is there a way you can set the positions as default so we can just hit reset to default in the options and they all go into place? Just a thought.

I know with the installer it doesn't actually select 1280x1024 its some other resolution and if your not careful and choose a similar but different res that can throw things out of wack.
Another thing that can and cannot throw things out is the fullscreen mode... are those that are having problems running full screen or are they in windowed mode. It could even be something like different frequency settings from desktop to game .. some games don't like change the frequency say from 85hz on the desktop to 75hz on the game .. or 60hz (default on LCD's) to something higher .. that can change the screen size some and thus affect the position (now this last statement is hypothetical not sure if its possible but stranger things haven been know to happen) Another issue in theory could be the changes of resolutions .. if going from say 1024x768 to 1152x864 that change can affect the game in different ways.. I've had it happen to me all the time with EQ1 before I kept thing the same.
Or we can blame Sony for yet another undocument feature

If you don't use the eq2.ini file that the installer creats it will also jack you ui settings. because it sets cl_letter_box_amount to the maximum veiw area. So if you pick 1024 then later change to 1280 the ui settins will be scewed. You will have to move them into place. If you window out eq changes rezalutions and it will through off the window settings. any way most windows use cl_letter_box_amount 0.135000. Hope that helps some of you out.

I run the installer, use the .ini it installs, choose 1280x1024 in the installer, and didn't change it. Have an LCD so run everything, desktop, all games, in 1280x1024 at 60 hrtz. And I play in fullscreen mode. Last version installed correctly, windows were all in the right spots. What file actually saves your rez and how you have your UI setup, as in window locations and such? The servernamechar.ini ?

your eq_recent.ini sets your windowed mode and full screen mode res settings ... also your extreme preset files if you use them.
With my run into the eq_recent.ini being different from save to save its hard to tell if this is whats actually goofing things up ... the res part never seems to change .. just the other menu options.

Recipe Book Filter Dropdown
Hi Landiin,
I just went into my society to do some crafting and I noticed that my recipe book filter is completely blank. When I select the dropdown arrow there's no list. Any idea what might be causing this? I'm running v2.16.3. I'm not sure which file it is that controls that part but if it's a simple edit then let me know and I'll just edit the file. I believe it's from the 'eq2ui_tradeskills.xml'.

I'll have a look at that 1280x1024 ini and see if it got screwed up ( it sounds as if it did ). In the mean time unlock all windows and slide them into place if you can, there shouldn't be any reason why you couldn't.

Hmm is any other dropdown doing this? I didn't think I did the tradeskill modual yet though. If eq2ui_tradeskill.xml is in your extreme folder deleted it out because if its the old one yea, it's prob busted.
Now that most of the hard work on project improve eq2maps is done, I'm back to eXtreme. I'm in the proccess of completing the that last few styles so I can go ahead on reskin the rest of the UI.
Things I plan to bring to the UI.[list][*]Add a unequip all to the quick button page (to take the spot of stop eat/drink ).[*]Figure out somthing for the other stop eat/drink button.[*]After eXtreme is stable again, I am going to do a basic eXtreme. The 1 in the 'extreme' folder has been removed but this isn't the one from the 'extreme' folder. This is the 1 from the 'Default' folder which is what I'm sure it's loading. I'll post a screen shot of what's happening. Does your's work?
Here's a copy of the screenshot. I don't think this is coming from the 'extreme' folder since the 'eq2ui_tradeskills.xml' doesn't exist there.
OH... and I run my UI at 1280x1024 and I posted a .INI file, with all the windows locked in the proper location, a while back but here's the link to the post. Hope this works for others: http://www.eq2interface.com/forums/s...&postcount=426

the receipes window is not included in the current install, so this window should be default unless you installed a mod for it.
