Did you make a shortcut from the start Menu to the desktop? Reason I ask is because it shouldn't be adding an icon to the desktop. Any ways, make sure its not minimized, look over by your clock for it to be in that try and just double click the icon. If its not there try starting it from start->program files->eXtreme. If that fails go to the eXtreme ui directory and run it from there, eXtremeUI_CP.exe.

Landiin,
A question about the foreign files. Should these be deleted?? I got a big list of foreign files. It looks like alot of them are the info pages for like the class spells and what-not for the "info" button. Which I might add is AWESOME.

Is there a way to set the health HUD to default to being off? (I do not use it) Can I just delete the UI file for it?

2 bugs I've noticed the other day.
- The volume button does not toggle back on.
- The submit bug button in the /bug screen is not active.

Well the UI looks great! and I tried to install it but it doesn't like my display I run a 1680X1050. Still I tried to install and have the UI pieces just centered in the middle. However, This didn't work as I seemed to be missing components.

Any chance you will provide a setup for 1680X1050 or direct me on how to get this to work properly for me.

BTW..I did install two clean copies to try and get it to work....but it didn't help.

I appreciate all you've done.

What res option did you use as your base in advanced option? Picking 1600x1024 should get you in the ballpark, then you'd have to adjust some windows to get them lined up. IE unlock and move them..

Kind of need a little more information GaminRoger.

What do you mean by can't get it to come? Can't get it to download, Run, or what? Are you getting any error messages?

I run the installer for UIExtreme start EQ2 and see nothing different

I went to the advanced options and see the character INI's but there are not reselution settings shown.

I go to the UIExtreme Tab and I end up getting this message: Out of System Resources.

I went in manually and changed the eq2.ini fiel to reflect the eXtreme ui settings still didn't work.

WHat am I doiung wrong? pleas esend em an email [email protected]

did you let eXtremeUI_CP patch? the install has none ZERO UI files. If you do not let it download all files you will not be able to use the eXtreme UI.

Don't know why but I cannot connect to get any files after downloading the downloader. I was able to on friday but the UI kept installing all funky. You know missing fonts textures and no targeting ability what so ever. So I'm trying again. Just thought you'd like to know it seems your server is down. I shall continue to try. Need this ui my new monitor demands it! lol

Ok got it to install. It connected and now I'm patching the UI. Or updateing it. I'm on dl 3/250 files. Moving eXtreme - ly slow though. Been about 5 minutes to download those 3 files and I'm on a T1 line.

As since the day I installed this, this UI rocks! I was thinking what might be nice if one could select text within the notes window (and info window too if possible) so as to copy and paste to fellow guildees or those asking questions. I have found the notes and info windows very valuable to me, it would be nice to be able to quickly copy (ctrl-c) and paste (ctrl-v) to others in other windows instead of typing all the info out, when answering someones questions about a quest or whatever..

Just a thought, definately works well as it is anyway..

Thanks for reading and most of all for the hard work making this UI work so well. Props bigtime for such a smooth operation, especially with the latest big patch, I was half expecting a bit of lag time for repairs, which I saw none.

Just thought you might like to see how I have configured this UI for my own use. I mentioned before I like all my chat windows on top, I like lots of hotkeys too, this was my solution attached...

I will post my custom guild logo in another reply too, so you can see what I see while zoning Logo wise..

Nothing I can really do about the things in the info center as that is just a 3rd party mod I plugged into extreme. I will look into making so the notes can be copied from, but no real ETA on that. Good idea

ROFL, good to know, I've updated some 3rd party classes ( on the dev updater ) and I was having a hell of a time commencting.. Was like going over each line of the new code trying to figure out what the heck was going on.

The patcher's acting up for me too.

I downloaded it from here, ran the installer, and let the updater go. Got a bunch of "Out of System Resources" errors, so I reinstalled the UI and ran the updater. That time it worked -- or so it seemed. I loaded up the game and half the UI (and pretty much all of the maps) was completely broken.

I closed out and tried to run the updater again, but got this:

"Preparing eXtremeUI_CP.exe for patching.
Patching eXtremeUI_CP.exe
Error renaming D:\EverQuest II\UI\eXtreme\eXtremeUI_CP.tmp
Patch Failed!"

A little help here?

Well I got it to update with all those out of resource messages and got into game. The UI is there but all the text is like yellow and I cannot read it. Also I have no tarfet windows no where. Even when I cntrl+t nothing. No effects spell bar either. Not even hidden nor off screen. Oh and zero special fonts at all. Guess this UI just doesn't like me. Nice UI though from what I've seen. But for me tis broken.

The server the ui is on seems to be acting up ATM. I am sure it will be rectified soon so hang tight.

how do i set it as my default UI ? nothing is different on my screen and it says that i need to set it as my default UI for it to run.

When you get that pop click yes ( go to settings ) then click ui->client settings and press save under eq2.ini.

Is there any way possible to resize the target window? It is huge!

Also I am having some issues with some of the windows overlapping even when I click through checked on the options. Is there a work around for this? (i.e. Power bars overlap all windows, target window overlaps all windows and so does the group window) When they do this I cannot read any of the instant updates that flash on my screen for quest due to my UI set up.

No it's not possible to resize the current target windows. They are designed to fit into the groove in the lower hud. You can try the legacy target/implied windows posted some post back. But you will need to add them files to your ecluded files list or they will be updated to the current windows.

not sure if this is a me not being able to see this. But when i put all my characters in the quick select, and start the game it doesn't save them. I looked to see if thier was a save like in the other version but i dont see one?

Hey i tried downloading and installing this UI on my computer, well the download was sucessful. But whenever it loads eXtreme AUCP the download in there only gets to 44% and it stops. This is the third time this has happened and it has stopped at 44% every time. Please help!

what file is it trying to get at 44%? If it stops X out of it and restart it again. It will pick up where it left off.

AUCP stops downloading at 15/139 files and sits there looking at me, is there a problem with the server on 71.41.164.1 ?? is there an alt ? Is there a standalone zip download ??

Help Plz I need to update this superb bit of software I am totally hooked on it .

Nope, The server is performing just fine. You may want to try to run the AUCP again.
