GU55/Sentinel's Fate Update
Howdy Zonx,
Ya been busy working your magic on Fetish Nightfall for GU55/Sentinel's Fate? Or do we need to fiddle around ourselves for a few days after release until you get everything in place for us?
If we need to do some changes ourselves, from what I understand, here are the changes that need to be done on launch day:
Delete from the FetishNightfall folder:
eq2ui_journals.xml
eq2ui_journals_active.xml
eq2ui_journals_quest.xml
eq2ui_mainhud_mainchat.xml
eq2ui_mainhud_mainchatnew.xml
eq2ui_mainhud_persona.xml
Add this line to eq2ui_mainhud.xml on a new line right after the line containing eq2ui_mainhud_contest.xml:
<include>eq2ui_mainhud_customization.xml</include>
(yeah, position doesn't really matter, but keeping them in alphabetical order doesn't hurt)
I think Keezyrick had some updated files for beta but the link posted on the beta boards doesn't seem to work anymore (at least for me).
Thanks again for all the work you do on this UI Zonx. For me, the game wouldn't be the same without it.

I expect to have a full update available by pre-order release (Tuesday).
Basically all the edits are done, I just need to test and debug over the next few days.
I'll have to look at the chat window... didn't see any changes there.

I don't remember any changes on Beta, and there's nothing listed for that window in Dolby's SF comparison.

It wasn't a change on beta to my knowledge. The only issue was caused by dynamic spacing because math operations were returning their results in scientific notation. Rothgar fixed that problem a month or so ago.
The chat windows did not work properly until that issue was fixed but they should work fine as is now.

Yeah, I forgot about that since they got it fixed. The net result is that there's no real changes necessary to the mainchat window =)

Awesome. Sorry for the wild goose chase on the chat window. Was on my list from beta and never updated the list once the bug got fixed apparently.
Glad to hear you're on top of things as usual.

download is still 11.1 is there a delay in the approval of the download?
edit:
n/m for some reason, chrome is downloading 11.1 but IE downloaded 11.2, and yes my cache was cleaned to make sure.. strange behavior.

To update an existing installation...
1) If you've customized any files (Market Favs, Raid Abilities, etc.) you'll want to make backups of these.
2) Download the new update
3) extract the ZIP directly to the Everquest II directory
(usually C:\Program Files\Sony\Everquest II)
4) When asked if you wish to replace files, choose "Yes to All".
5) Restore any customized files from the backups you made in step 1.
6) Run the Map updater.
7) You're done. Launch EQ2 and enjoy.
Note: Do NOT extract the ZIP to the UI or FetishNightfall sub directories. (Common mistake)

Thanks Zonx!
I deleted my old version of Fetish and did a fresh install. Still getting a non-compatible message upon getting new quests and the Persona window and Inspect player windows are showing a lot of stats at 10,000. Reinstalled again and it's still doing this. Not sure if you just didn't have time to get to these files, or if I made a mistake... Thought I'd post the problems though.

Ditto....I know you have a way for us to see stuff like overall crit, I'm sure of it, but mine isn't showing, nor is +ability mod etc, and my resists. Very frustrating, I've copied each file individually as well as doing the whole thing over three times at this point.

I'm having a problem with the quest update compatibility too. Before updating the files, I noticed the quest mini-window (the one which displays currently tracked quest) had disappeared. After updating, the mini-window's still not back. I'm not very good with playing around with the UI so it may be entirely my own fault for losing track of the window. Any idea how to turn it back on?
Thanks so much for providing this UI

Finally home and able to test this stuff on live servers.
If you are getting compatibility errors, you did not properly update. Common mistakes include...
1) Extracted the ZIP to the wrong directory. Be sure to extract directly to the Everquest II directory and not some sub directory.
2) Your browser used a cached link to download an older ZIP. Ensure you did in fact download FetishNightfall_11_2.zip NOT v11.1. If you are having this problem, try using FireFox or setting your browser to..
"check for newer versions of stored pages" every time you visit. For IE this option can be found under..
Tools --)> Internet Options --)> General Tab --)> Browser History Settings
3) You previously monkeyed with your UI (manually or by installing some add-on) that inserted files that shouldn't be there. Ensure your FetishNightfall directory does not contain eq2_gamedata.xml as this will prevent the newer version from loading.
About the new Quest Helper...
Upon first logging in to SoF, your QH window may not be visible and will almost certainly be empty. You must "Check" quests in the main journal that you want to appear in the QH. You may also need to toggle the QH window off then on again via the checkbox in the bottom right corner of the main journal.

eq2ui_journals_active.xml
I have always used the one that shows the quests on the bottom of the window called _bottom_eq2ui_journals_active.xml. I noticed that 11.2 has this file, and the _top_ file, with the date of 12/03/2009. The 11.1 version, cause I always rename my folder FetishNightFallOld, has a date on the same files of 12/04/2009. I checked the original new file, eq2ui_journals_active.xml, in 11.2 and it shows a date of 02/15/2010. Did you possibly forget to update the _top_ and _bottom_ files?? I'm bringing this up because I'm getting an error window same as some that posted above...I'm hoping that I found out why...I'm going to copy the _bottom_ file from the 11.1 Fetish folder to my new folder and try it and see if that works...if it doesn't then I'll replace that file with the 2010 file and see if that works...
As always, this is a great thing that you do for us Zonx and I feel confident in saying that we all appreciate all of the work that you put into keeping Fetish alive and well!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Ok, after doing some file moves, the _bottom_ and _top_ files dated 12/xx/2009 don't work at all...the new 2010 file works fine for me. I can live with this until I get a chance to compare the new file to the _bottom_ and _top_ files to see what mods need to be done to make them work. I'm just glad to have it functional so it's no big rush for me.

The quest helper window was totally revamped. Any file that has not be updated for GU55 (without a date of around Feb 2010) will not work.
Zonx probably included the old files by accident.

Yah just didn't remove them. There is no need for the alternate versions now that the additional controls have been removed.
