firesparkz, I appreciate the feedback. In response I'd like to clarify a few things...

1) I am a designer / developer / director, not a programmer. While I do have some light programming skill, I simply do not have the tools to create EXE installers, configurator utilities or auto-updaters. More than happy to work with someone that is willing to program these tools. I'd also like to point out that EXE were banned from this site until VERY recently.

2) Contrary to your comment about having to wait for me "to catch up", I have ALWAYS released updates to match SOE's releases within 24hrs and am usually the first to post a stable custom UI update. I do not update my code based on test server code because live releases often do not match the last rev on test. Doing so has caused problems for other developers in the past.

3) My development scheme has always been to release code that steps on SOE code as little as possible, is easy for new users to install, and for other modders to extend. As a result Fetish breakage due to SOE updates is minimal (usually resolved by temporarily removing specific windows), setup is relatively simple, and many of the other sets available on this site use Fetish as a foundation, are inspired by, or borrow pieces from it.

I have always encouraged others to upload addons to my sets and have helped other developers tweak their mods to be compatible with Fetish. My goal here isn't to provide the one-size-fits-all killer UI, its to provide a streamlined functional foundation that can be customized with a host of 3rd-party addons as the user sees fit. The ultimate benefit to this scheme is a wider array of options for users to choose from, many of which do require installing addons or a package uploaded as an entirely different set.

4) As for options...

in addition to the slew of alternate files in the core download there are over 20 addons available from the Nightfall download page.

There are currently 2 Motifs and 4 themes available (that's 8 visual combos)

Goldi's Start button is skinned for Fetish and should inherit whatever theme is used. I've considered including something like this in the core set since Kosmos released the first start button but felt it over complicated initial setup for novice users. EQ2Maps is already confusing for new users.

A 3rd party configurator is available from the tools section.

The following sets are based largely on Fetish:

- Goldi's MMM - Mix and Match
- TyeJae Night Steel

The following are some of the sets that credit me but prbly don't use the Fetish foundation:

- Landiin's Extreame UI
- Jaxel's OCD Advanced
- Faetyl's ThorUI (most windows have been reworked and credits removed).

Finally, most other window mods can be installed without conflict and can be reskinned for Fetish fairly easily (Milquetowst Help Window for example).

5) The standard Fetish bag titlebars can be hidden via window options. You can also install any of the 3rd-party bag mods without conflict. Of course you'll prbly wanna reskin them if using Nightfall and upload them as addons.

6) As much as I enjoy the support and acclaim for my sets, I'd be perfectly happy to pass the torch to anyone able to build and maintain a better/extendable alternative. While some of the newer sets out rival my standard sets for features (not surprising since they can borrow ideas from existing sets), I don't think any of them are as easily extended. Virtually every feature available in other sets can be added to Fetish with an addon or 3rd-party mod.

Bottom line, I'm not interested in squashing the competition, instead I provide a foundation for others to leverage so my users can tweak to suit their needs. Rather than bloating my foundation with every conceivable feature, I encourage others to develop addons that can be dropped in as desired. I feel this provides maximum flexibility to the user and encourages aspiring developers.

I do wish more people would develop Fetish addons and utilities rather than overhauling the set and releasing it as their own, but in any event users are getting more options which makes me happy.
