No compass

all my compass/clock downloaded files are in sony/everquest2/UI/EQ2Map folder; my maps work great and the compass/clock works in game except for the compass which is not there; it is black. Nothing is in the folder:
jaxel_skinned_compassclock
My eq2.ini file reads: cl_ui_skinname EQ2MAP
cl_ui_subdir UI/
How do I get my compass to appear?
