Here's a suggestion.
Pet window OnHide event = "flash_window=MainHUD.Clock flash_window=MainHUD.Clock"
Clock Window OnHoverIn event = "flash_window='MainHUD.Clock off' flash_window='MainHUD.Clock off'"
This will give you spinning, flashing arrows around the clock window (the same ones that show for a bit when you level and get a new ability on your hotbar), and they'll go away when you hover over the clock.
You could do something else, like trigger an Effector on something noticable as well.
