no exp bar for new toons

I'm having an issue with the exp bar for newly created characters. It isn't there! I've tried all the alt-x and so on combos, as well as global window defaults for opacity and location.... no such luck. The exp bars for my older chars are fine, only for new creations is it a wash. My wife has the same problem, and i have seen a post on EQ2Players saying its a bugged ui... I run fetish classic, wife runs fetish nightfall, both at lastest editions. anyone else having this issue with other ui's? I have as yet not tried running the default ui to see if works, Zonx has spoiled the hell out of me... Can someone help?

copy the uisettings.ini from a working character and rename it to your new character's name/server.

Be prepared to do this every tim you log in until SOE fixes the bug that is causing the server to not save UI changes.

Um, wrong. The problem is the DEFAULT position of the XP bar is off-screen.

By copying the uisettings file ONCE, it will work fine from then on.

sorry meant to post this last week, RL got too busy....
the copy UI settings didn't help out, seemed to get "contaminated" along the way somewhere. The only way i could get the exp bar, HO wheel, and a couple of other UI items on-screen was to load default UI, move each UI piece slightly, then re-boot with custom UI, solved all my problems after that, bit of a pain, but hey, its worth it. Thanks magus and chumba for the help anyway!
