UI Descriptions

New here, so I may be missing something .....

Where are the detailed descriptions of exactly what a specific UI does?
Got a Beginner's Guide somewhere?

Either I can't find detailed descriptions and pictures.... or they don't exist (and one is expected to know what those most famous of UIs [i.e. ExtremeUI, ProfitUI, etc] are meant to accomplish).

....lost in the Big City....
