Default Banners

Is there any way I can hide the banners? I'm paying for kazaam and I would gladly pay for this site too if needed. Since OGaming is here to stay they really should have some kind of master account that gives you banner-free access to all their affiliated sites or something.

The ones I get are very in-your-face (Swedish ads) with bright colors and lots of flashing text. Really destroys the whole experience of the site - they're such an eyesore.

Use Firefox with the Adblock Plus add-on

All the ads I've seen on our sites are very tame, no sound, no flashing graphics. You must be outside the US and its using some geo targeted ads for you. Can you attach a screen shot of the annoying ad?

There may be something in the future for allakhazam members to be able to disable ads here. We are currently in talks to see if its possible.

Although the ad revenue helps pay for our servers if you find them really annoying you can always do what its suggested in the post above. I dont do it because as a webmaster I know how much webmasters depend on ad revenue to keep their sites going. (specially when you host a project like eq2map that burns nearly 2tb a month).

Yeah, I'm in Sweden. I'll grab a screen when I get home from work.

I can imagine the ad revenue is important with that kind of traffic. The adblock in my firefox works ok but a lot of the time the site alignments gets out of whack. Not sure why it does that but the effect of it is even more annoying than the flashing ads hehe.

Besides, I really have no problem paying (within reason, of course lol) for a service that I use as much as this place. I've been with the interface sites since the first staggering steps (wasn't there some merger with equi.com way back when? I forget) back in EQ1 (Genghiz Cohen on the forums) and I'm next looking forward to moving over to the Vanguard site.

Edit: Sorry for posting in chit chat. This place is so far down on the list of forums that it never occured to me lol.

I'd be willing to pay a small fee to disable the adds here... but I'd want it only for here (to go for this site), not subscribing to allakhazam. I'm guessing that's not possible under the purchase?

Well, the ultimate solution would be to offer separate accounts for each site in the OGaming family and a big account that spans all sites. Hopefully that's what they're planning.

Edit: Re. screenshots. Of course the really horrible ones won't show their faces now hehe. No matter how many times I refresh. Well, no matter. I'll hold out and hope your negotiations comes through in a positive way.
